Duties: Responsible for configuration management planning. Describes provisions for configuration identification, change control, configuration status accounting, and configuration audits. POSITION SUMMARY: Under minimal direction, at an advanced technical level, performs assessment, preparation and implementation of environments and change control activities for medium size complex tasks. Able Coordinate various departments to research and update procedures and other CM concerns. Works with customers and technical staff to resolve problems as needed. RESPONSIBILITIES: Assists in the maintenance and control of the configuration of identified items such as baselines, documentation, drawings, specifications, and associated documentation within an approved CM tool. Ensures configuration identification by reviewing design release documents for completeness and proper authorizations. Participates in technical teams to resolve configuration control conflicts and issues. Prepares and/or processes requests for deviations/waivers for government approval when specifications cannot be met. Supports the CM Analyst Lead in planning, organizing, and tracking all aspects of CM including improvements to the methodology. Delivers briefings, attend meetings with the customer and deals with issues as they arise. May audit subcontractor‘s inspection or technical documents preparation procedure to verify compliance with contract requirements. Trains less experienced CM Analysts. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Typically requires bachelor‘s degree or equivalent, and five to seven years of related experience. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Normal demands associated with an office environment. Ability to work on computer for long periods, and communicate with individuals by telephone, email and face to face. Some travel may be required.
