RESPONSIBILTIES: CACI has an immediate opening for a Network Security Specialist to support United States Computer Emergency Readiness Team (US CERT) efforts undertaken by Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The Network Security Specialist is responsible for examining malicious software, suspicious network activities, and nonauthorized presence in the network to analyze the nature of the threat, and secure and monitor firewall configurations. The Network Security Specialist needs to understand the specimenÃ¢‚¬„¢s attack capabilities, its propagation characteristics, and define signatures for detecting malware presence. By understanding the network principles and security, this expert can build a robust network that provides the proper functionality and correct level of security. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent and 2 to 4 years related experience. TS/SCI Clearance Ideal candidate would have former experience with a computer emergency response team or with digital forensics and investigation. (Depends on Level) Minimum is Bachelors Degree (suggested areas of study include Computer Science, Information Technology Information Assurance/Security Engineering, Software Engineering, mathematics, Business/Management) and 1+ year experience involving work directly related to skill areas OR Degree from a designated CAEIAE OR 2 to 4 years directly related experience Possession of relevant certifications - Core: MCSE, CCNA, CCNP, ISC, CAP - Related: CISSP, CISM, ISC, ISSMP, CompTIA, SANs, GIAC, PMP Required Hardware: Routers, switches, firewalls, intrusion detection systems. Required Software: Network management software, firewall rule management, anti-virus software PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Normal demands associated with an office environment.
