Senior ETL Developer Duties and Responsibilities: - Defines, oversees and contributes to ETL solutions, standards, controls, procedures, and documentation. Serves as a team member and works to maintain a positive work environment. Areas of work tasking include: - Assumes responsibility for ETL design, development and unit testing. - Consults with clients to determine needs and meets with clients on an on-going basis throughout application development. - Contributes to the design of data marts and data warehouses. - Cooperates closely with the project team to translate client descriptions and ideas into workable solutions. - Contributes to the development of design and coding standards. - Develops technical documentation regarding processes and design, as necessary. - Briefs internal stakeholders on design and development approach, as necessary. Required Qualifications: - Secret clearance must be current - Minimum 5 years of experience in ETL programming, data management, warehousing, and data mart development including technical development/design experience in complex systems and producing formal implementation plans. - Minimum 5 years of experience developing with any or a combination of the following ETL tools: IBM DataStage, Informatica, Ab Initio, SSIS, Talend, or Pentaho). - Minimum 5 years of experience in designing processes to migrate data from one environment to another. - Minimum 5 years of experience using Oracle (Version 10g or higher). - Proficiency in Oracle SQL and PL/SQL. - Proficiency and knowledge in ETL and SQL performance tuning. - Good understanding of data warehousing, dimensional, relational, and OLAP data modeling. - Attention to detail and maintaining high data quality standards. - Effective at working on small teams and ability to think logically and independently with strong analytical, research and problem solving skills. Desired Qualifications: - Experience working with IBM InfoSphere Tool Suite (Version 8.1 or higher). - Experience with XML data and data exchange implementations (especially the NIEM standards). - Experience using SOA, Web services, Microsoft BizTalk. - Experience working Scrum or other agile methodologies. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Typically requires bachelor‘s degree or equivalent, and five to seven years of related experience. Bachelor's degree or equivalent, preferably in Computer Science, Software Engineering and/or Computer Engineering. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Normal demands associated with an office environment. Ability to work on computer for long periods, and communicate with individuals by telephone, email and face to face. Some travel may be required.
