POSITION SUMMARY:   BIT Systems seeks a highly experienced System Engineer to lead and consult on various products and programs, provide systems engineering on new and existing products, and develop new concepts and solutions to customers. You will work closely with our customers, senior management, program managers, and cross discipline technical staff to thoroughly understand customer objectives and then to develop solutions. RESPONSIBILTIES:  The engineer will lead and consult on various products and programs, provide systems engineering on new and existing products, and develop new concepts and solutions to customers. You will work closely with our customers, senior management, program managers, and cross discipline technical staff to thoroughly understand customer objectives and then to develop solutions. Expected systems engineering functions will include concept development, engineering design, integration and evaluation, and operations and maintenance of various systems or systems of systems. you will also be expected to have regular, early, and continuing interaction with customers to define solutions and project scope and act as a liaison for the customer within the company. Expected to conduct detailed reviews, handle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously, gain a detailed understanding of systems, workflows, CONOPs and advanced concepts, innovate and provide strategic direction, and make decisions while under pressure. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: - Typically requires a high school diploma and 8-10 years of related experience, or a bachelor‘s degree or equivalent and  2-4 years of related experience - Practical knowledge of SIGINT customer CONOPs and experience in support of deployed products/systems - Motivate and inspire confidence in teams - Interact directly with customers and represent the company in a professional manner - Assess, update, create, and manage requirements - Develop functional and physical architectures - Maintain traceability throughout a project - Possess and demonstrate strong leadership skills - Identify and manage risks - Ability to lead the generation and tracking of CONOPs, requirements, design reviews, test plans, test procedures and program reports - Understanding of telecommunications and data communications system concepts and/or signal processing - Ability to provide technical solutions to complex signals analysis is required. Ability to work with only minimal supervision following established procedures and the ability to determine new solutions to real-time situations is necessary. Must be able to interact with multiple customers, both on and off-site. Applicants selected will be subject to government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.  Desired Qualifications: - Strong communication, verbal, computer, research and analytical skills, personal initiative, and team orientation.  - Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of senior leadership  - Experience with technical proposal generation, project scope definition, and creating project staffing needs within the engineering matrix - Demonstrated ability to translate customer technical objectives into mission outcomes - Flexibility in an ever changing and evolving environment and be ability to adjust to change   PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Normal demands associated with an office environment. Ability to work on computer for long periods, and communicate with individuals by telephone, email and face to face. Some travel may be required.
