This is an new Business Development opportunity in San Antonio TX in support of the Aerospace Solutions Group (ASG) which anticipates substantial additional personnel requirements across a number of labor categories and levels beginning in early calendar year 2017, contingent on receiving awards for both the BAT (Bomber Armament Tester) and the ATSSI (Automatic Test System Sustainment Initiative). RESPONSIBILTIES: - Design, procurement, manufacture and documentation of mechanical test systems and fixtures, cable assemblies, and packaging of electronic components - Supporting drafting personnel in producing engineering data packages for Government customers as well as support development of technical documentation for test solutions - Assisting development of schedules and ensuring design projects are completed on time and on budget - Providing guidance to less experienced engineers and design personnel REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: - Experience in sheet metal design, fixture design, enclosure design and system packaging - A background in development of test systems, electro-mechanical design, mechanical systems or avionics systems - A solid understanding of electrical and electronic circuits, such as wiring harnesses and cabling - Experience in evaluation of obsolete components for reverse engineering replacement or repair - Proficiency with 3D solid design using SOLIDWORKS or similar design tools - Good communication skills (written and verbal) - Ability to work within a team environment DESIRED EXPERIENCE: - Experience with military specifications and standards for military support equipment such as MIL-PRF 28800 and MIL-STD-810 - Experience with MIL-Spec connectors (MIL-C-38999 and MIL-C-5015) and MIL-Spec wiring (MIL-C-27500 and MIL-W-22759) - Exposure to common test equipment architectures (PXI; VXI; LXI; PC104) - Knowledge of DoD 5200.39, DoD 5200.44, CNSSI 1253 and NIST SP 800-53 - Knowledge and practice of ISO 9001, AS9100 or CMMI quality process standards - Thermal Analysis of components - Specific knowledge in the application of IUID to DoD assets - Significant prior experience in successfully designing and fielding cable and hardness assemblies for use in adverse environments EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Typically requires bachelor‘s degree or equivalent and five to seven years of related experience. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Normal demands associated with an office environment. Ability to work on computer for long periods, and communicate with individuals by telephone, email and face to face.
