POSITION SUMMARY: The Release Manager leads monthly release planning by carefully packaging change requests and trouble tickets by coordinating with business stakeholders and other project leads in a large Enterprise Data Warehouse Operations and Maintenance project. The Release Manager ensures project schedule for the releases are developed and communicated to all stakeholders. This is a highly visible position managing a critical component of the project and overseeing implementation of Release changes in a highly dynamic environment. RESPONSIBILITIES: - Coordinates with database administrators, data modelers, architects, ETL developers, and data and business analysts, to plan the components of a software release. - Prepares and submits Release List and Release Notes to the change management board. - Participates in Release and Change Management meetings. - Conducts Integrated Release Planning which includes assessing technical impacts, level of effort, developing release plan and schedule, conducting release kick-off and developing release status dashboard. - Coordinates Release execution and GO/NO-GO acceptance. - Schedules reviews as necessary to ensure all stakeholders are aware of the impacts of a release. - Coordinates Release communications and preparation activities - Schedules Release milestones - Tracks Release progress with input from the Integrated Release Team and employs appropriate metrics and management reporting. - Works with the end users, and internal cross teams to prioritize and scope scheduled releases with completion dates for each phase. - Coordinates and participates in regular post-implementation reviews and presents release metrics in order to assist with the evaluation of release quality. - Evaluates and improves the existing release planning and budgeting process, working with project management and client leads. - Supports the Configuration Management process to maintain current release information. - Tracks and reports status and other metrics against goals on an ongoing basis. - Works with other technical team members to resolve all release related issues. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE - Bachelor‘s degree or equivalent. - 7-9 years of experience in Release Management preferably in an Enterprise Data Warehouse environment - Exposure to Agile development methodology - Highly effective verbal and written communication skills. - Project Management experience (PMP certification is a plus) - Experience on Department of Health and Human Services projects is a plus.
