Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY: Rapid Response -“ Third Generation (R23G). R23G is a DoD Program that provides solutions in support of the U. S. Army Communications-Electronics Command's (CECOM) C4ISR mission. The CECOM Rapid Response Project Office is chartered by the Deputy to the Commanding General, Communications-Electronics Command, to execute a unique, competitive, and streamlined business process that will allow federal government managers to acquire contractor-provided services.   POSITION SUMMARY: Performs subsystem definition, preliminary and detailed design, design implementation, subsystem and system integration, and tests for a subsystem. Participates in software requirements review, preliminary and critical design reviews, integration readiness review, and software acceptance reviews. Researches problems discovered by quality assurance or product support and develops solutions.   RESPONSIBILTIES:   Responsible for the design and development of signal processing functions using standard VHDL.   Must be able to research and quantify the techniques used with common software applications like Python, C, JAVA, LabView or Matlab   Work with engineers to identify ways to integrate existing hardware and software into the system design REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS An experienced electronic engineer who has FPGA design experience with experience in VHDL.  E xperience should include analytical/debugging, HW/SW integration and testing skills. Experience with XLINX multi-node or Intel (Altera) FPGAs and 3D ICs.  Knowledge of specific components such as embedded memory, digital signal processing (DSP) blocks, high-speed transceivers, or high-speed I/O pins. Experience with one or more of the following programming languages: Java, C, C++ Familiarity with Agile software development concepts EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Requires bachelor‘s degree or equivalent, and five to seven years of related work experience.   PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Normal demands associated with an office environment. Ability to work on computer for long periods, and communicate with individuals by telephone, email and face to face. Some travel may be required.
