Job Description

Company: CACI   Summary:    Our team is looking for an experienced Software Engineer to be key member of a dynamic, multi-disciplined team focused on developing Advanced Analytic capabilities for DoD customer in a Cloud environment. Solutions will leverage Java, Scala and a variety of commercial, government, and open source software and frameworks such as, Apache Thrift, Apache Kafka, MongoDB, REDIS and S3 to address -œbig data- processing and analytics. If you‘re the type that thrives in an energetic, fast-paced environment and have a can-do attitude, then this position is for you.   Duties and Responsibilities: - Perform full lifecycle software development activities including design, code, debug test, and deployment of software components utilizing best practices, design patterns, and industry standards. - Participate actively in requirement analysis, design, task breakout, peer code reviews and planning using Agile methodology. - Plan and perform analytical and engineering research, design, development, and other assignments in conformance with design, engineering and customer specifications - Adhere to architecture, software development, configuration management, quality assurance plans - Develop and maintain software artifacts (e.g. design documentation, activity flows and other UML diagrams) - Work in close partnership with diverse and distributed team in various disciplines to develop solid technical designs. - Design, develop and maintain existing back-end systems written in Java and Scala. - Identify bottlenecks, troubleshoot issues and propose solutions. Required Qualifications: - Proficiency in Java and experience developing software and web services using Java. - Working knowledge of  Linux or Unix Operating Systems - Experience as a Software or Web Developer in programs of similar scope, type and complexity Desired Qualifications: - Experience with developing software in an Agile environment - Have a clear understanding of how to integrate software using open source and commercial software products (COTS) into an Enterprise IT architecture. - Working knowledge of non-relational (NoSQL) databases such as MongoDB, Redis, Accumulo or similar technologies desired. - Experience developing JSON based RESTFul services using Java and related languages and frameworks. - Familiarity writing unit tests with JUnit or similar. - Experience working in a Virtual Development Environment including Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Docker or similar. - Knowledge of software and system engineering and service-oriented architecture principles, concepts and best practices. - Understanding of how to utilize and apply design patterns - Experience with structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data sets, using XSLT and XML for data transformation and exchange; experience with DoD and IC data standards a plus. - Responsible for designing, developing, testing and/or re-engineering highly complex application components, including the analysis of existing systems to develop the -œas-is- specifications and re-engineering to develop the -œto-be- specifications in order to drive solutions forward in conjunction with the overall systems architecture. - Experience with GIT or another version control system (e.g. Subersion, CVS) - Previous experience supporting the IC is preferred - Understanding of the Microservice Framework pattern a plus. - Experience with JavaScript libraries like JQuery, ReactJS, AngularJS a plus. - Experience with Full Stack development a plus (frontend and backend) - Experience with automation/configuration management using either Puppet, SaltStack or an equivalent a plus - Experience with the Atlassian Suite of Tools (Confluence, JIRA, Bamboo) a plus - High degree of analytical and critical thinking skills. - Strong interpersonal and communications skills conducive to team building. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Typically requires bachelor‘s degree or equivalent, and 10 to 12 years of related experience.   PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Normal demands associated with an office environment. Ability to work on computer for long periods, and communicate with individuals by telephone, email and face to face. Some travel may be required.
