Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES: -- Under close supervision, will assist on a range of complex program activities requiring application of a wide range of qualitative and/or quantitative methods for assessment of complex management processes, systems and mission support programs associated with workforce development and process improvement within the Naval Sea Systems Command.  -- Performs a variety of analytical tasks in support of one or more contract programs.  -- Aides in developing plans, including budgets, and monitors tasks to meet contractual/project requirements for assigned program(s).  --Monitors and reports performance and programmatic documents against plans to ensure that contractual, cost, and schedule objectives are met. -- Assists in conducting research and developing information to understand major  information systems and structures associated with the Naval Ships Maintenance Community, including researching cost, schedule and risk data.       REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: -- Typically requires bachelor‘s degree or equivalent, and zero to two years of related (project support or management) experience. -- Must have solid written and verbal English communication skills, as well as have basic analytical skills.  --  Must be proficient in MS Office applications, particularly MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.    -- Must have a current DoD SECRET security clearance. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: -- Bachelors degree, preferably in the field of engineering, mathematics, business or IT related.   -- Proficiency in the use and configuration of SharePoint and/or M.S. Project is a plus.   -- Experience or education in project management, especially in the area of project financial management and control, is a plus.   PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Normal demands associated with an office environment. Ability to work on computer for long periods, and communicate with individuals by telephone, email and face to face. Some travel may be required.
