Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:   Join CACI as an Applications Engineer Lead supporting our Department of Defense customer.  The Applications Engineer Lead serves as the lead technical software engineer and project manager.    RESPONSIBILTIES:   Researches, designs, and develops critical and complex computer software systems, in conjunction with hardware product development, for medical, industrial, military, communications, aerospace, and scientific applications, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis.   Analyzes critical software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.   Involvement in business development includes briefing customers on company capabilities. Consults with hardware engineers and other engineering staff to evaluate interface between hardware and software, and operational and performance requirements of overall system.   Formulates and designs software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design.   Develops and directs software system testing procedures, programming, and documentation. As a company authority consults with customer concerning maintenance of software system.   Provides support for the acquisition, installation, maintenance and operations of computer systems hardware, software and networks within assigned customer work stations and facilities.   Contributes technical material to selected proposals and reports to substantiate and secure program funding.   Acts as senior technical lead for pre-proposal, proposal, and existing program efforts.   Identifies creative solutions to improve system and product offerings.   Reviews test plans and define / develop test benches for software libraries. Integrates externally developed code into core libraries.   Works with engineering and management team to collectively meet market requirements.   Interacts with senior customer personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordinated activity across organizational lines.   Documents and reviews engineering work as input for company collateral and patent requirements.   Collaborates with technical writers to create customer-relevant documentation.   Coordinates with project work teams to ensure adherence to policies, achievement of quality targets and delivery on schedule milestones.   Supports program management office in technical role.   Represents the organization as a prime customer contact on contracts or projects.   Provides advice and guidance to less experienced staff. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:   Typically requires bachelor‘s degree or equivalent and 10 to 12 years of related experience. Active DoD Secret clearance Software Engineer with Project Management in a complex enterprise environment with simultaneous active projects Working with multiple project management methodologies Familiarity with Rapid Application service delivery methodologies Two or more years‘ experience operating under a SDLC model with the ability to conform to established processes Mentoring and advising colleagues on new application techniques and technologies, such as Scrum, applying security principles during application origination, and how to properly implement new .NET Framework Application Programming Interfaces Preparing and presenting reports to all levels of management Education or demonstrated recent (within the past ten years) experience in a field that provides substantial knowledge useful for managing IT requirements Application Subject Matter Expertise and technical expertise with Microsoft programming languages and tools DESIRE QUALIFICATIONS:   Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD), Microsoft Certified Professional Developer (MCPD) certification, or demonstrated equivalency   PHYSICAL DEMANDS:   Normal demands associated with an office environment. Ability to work on computer for long periods, and communicate with individuals by telephone, email and face to face.
