Job Description

Position Summary: Experience with many of the following:  design and analysis; testing and data analysis; and integration on platforms (ground vehicles desired) of infrared and EO sensors. Experience with optical designs and focal plane array manufacturing. Experience developing sensor performance specifications and interface control documents. Knowledge of systems engineering concepts, execution of technical reviews, and verification and validation testing. Experience working in a Product Manager organization as part of an integrated team (acquisition specialists; cost analysts; contract specialists; logisticians; systems engineers) is desired. Able to work tasks individually or within a teaming environment. As an emerging expert, performs a variety of complex engineering tasks of an analysis, design, or test nature in one or more of the company's product/service areas requiring strong technical skills in one or more software and/or hardware engineering disciplines. Participates as a team member or lead on project teams, and provides guidance to less advanced engineers. Engineering activities support both domestic and international products/services. Duties and Responsibilities: -Collaborates with hardware and software designers/engineers, and analysts to develop, coordinate, analyze and evaluate hardware, software, or systems modeling and simulation-based studies and to examine ramifications of output, and design interfaces with various design systems. -Perform engineering analysis in preparation for Preliminary/Critical Design Reviews, Test Readiness Reviews, and System Verification Reviews. -Performs complex engineering assignments of an analysis, design or test nature requiring application of specific standard techniques and procedures. -Prepares complex engineering analysis of projects to include: preliminary design, calculation, life cycle cost and equipment selection and reviews the analysis of less advanced engineers. -Reviews and critiques proposed changes to engineering standards, policies, or details. -Reviews development plans for compliance with adopted engineering standards and good engineering practices. -Performs research or other professional and scientific work in one or more software and/or hardware engineering disciplines involving the application of a knowledge of complex engineering fundamentals. -Provides guidance to less advanced engineers and may serve as a team lead on specific projects. Required Qualifications: -Requires a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent and 10-12 years of related experience. -Experience developing EO/IR systems. -Experience with optical designs and focal plane array manufacturing. -Experience developing and reviewing performance specifications, interface control documents and numerous other technical documents supporting Technical Reviews and Milestone Decisions. -Knowledge of systems engineering concepts, execution of technical reviews, and verification and validation testing. -Active SECRET clearance required.   PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Normal demands associated with an office environment. Ability to work on computer for long periods, and communicate with individuals by telephone, email and face to face. Some travel may be required.
