Job Description

This is Senior-level Dispatcher work conducted within Logistics Support of Global Services. Positions in this occupation perform work at Headquarters. The Transportation Support Center (TSC) provides chauffeur services to senior company and Other Government officials, operates the company's shuttle bus services, and offers vehicle maintenance to internal components and OGAs.   The Senior dispatcher will be working as part of an established team whose emphasis is on delivering high quality customer service and expertise across the spectrum of transportation services. The employee must be mature, dependable, patient, and possess excellent verbal and written communication and inter-personal skills.  The employee will become familiar with customer needs and will match the appropriate TSC services to meet their requirements. The employee will become proficient in the use of all TSC databases to include, TSC's driver dispatching database. The employee has accountability for fully addressing customer requirements received via email, telephone, or walk-ins. He/She must possess tact and must routinely practice diplomacy when working with senior-level, high priority transportation requirements. TSC's Dispatch Team provides support from 0500 to 1900 Monday through Friday and from 0500 to 1000 on Saturday. Dispatchers the €œearly shift€ (0500 to 1330), mid-shift (0700-1530), and €œlate shift€ (1030 to 1900) and will work an average of one Saturday morning each month. Due to the important nature of TSC's mission, all TSC contractors are considered €œessential€ during weather emergencies.   Dispatcher - Senior support customer requirement duties that include operating an optimized dispatch system, utilizing the computer workstation. All personnel shall also have a valid Driver's License driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Personnel will be required to use any dispatch system currently in use.   Duties/Tasks and Responsibilities - Allocates work and opening and closing tickets - Prepares schedules to include date, time, type of delivery and destination. - Modifies schedules as new requests for services are received - Ensures balanced distribution of workload among drivers, maintaining and updating the duty list of employees on call and monitoring the hours worked. - Coordinates the daily operations of the drivers and serves as back up when needed to meet deadlines. - Receives and validates requirements for driver services from various sources and incorporates the requirements into existing workloads. - Communicates with drivers regarding status of requirements. - Receives requests for drivers via phone calls, electronic mail, or in-person requests. - Communicates with drivers regarding status of work and any changes to routes. - Using the Cheetah system (or current system of record) performs dispatch duties on a daily basis to cover staff shortages and re-direct drivers as necessary. - Ensures the provision of quality customer service and assists in the resolution of customer problems and issues depending on area of assignment - Defines and anticipates customer needs. - Maintains contact with customer regarding status of problem and estimated time of resolution. - Escalates problems to management as appropriate. - Fosters an environment that promotes effective customer service. - Solicits customer feedback to ensure customer satisfaction. - Performs other related duties as assigned. - Must be comfortable using a computer and MS-Office applications such as MS Word, MS Excel, as well as other pertinent data bases.   Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities - Ability to become familiar with company regulations, policies, and unique company authorities. - Ability to exercise diplomacy, maturity and good judgment. - Ability to exercise good judgment while making decisions on the routes to be utilized and follow correct delivery procedures for each authorized location and addressee. - Extensive knowledge of security protocol and cover. - Extensive knowledge of Washington, D.C. and surrounding routes. - Well-developed customer service skills, demonstrated by anticipating and responding to customers' needs in a manner that generates customer satisfaction. - Excellent driving skills and a good driving record. - Good interpersonal and oral communications skills, demonstrated by developing working relationships and networks with employees, staff, and colleagues. - Ability to effectively handle multiple priorities simultaneously. - Analytical ability to identify problems and issues and to provide resolution. - Ability to work in a team environment. Minimum Qualifications   Experience: - Possess a valid driver's license. - Possess a clean driving record.   Clean Driving Record Definition: LS professional drivers must meet the following criteria, at a minimum, before operating company controlled vehicles: - Negative point accumulation is not to exceed minus four (-4) points. - Zero (0) driving suspensions or revocations. - Zero (0) incidents of serious motor vehicle violation, including, but not limited, to driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs; reckless driving; leaving the scene of an accident, or a series of convictions that reflect a pattern of unsafe behavior. - Has not been assigned to any alcohol safety action program or driver alcohol rehabilitation program. - Has not been assigned to any driver improvement programs.   Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.         SC2HP
