DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR, LEAD CACI is seeking a Mongo Database Administrator to serve as on a high-visibility customer project implementing the Mongo DB. This position will provide database architecture support, database administration, and data migration services working on a CACI team. The role includes operations and maintenance (O&M) support for the development and test environments. RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide the full scope of database management functions for a major system, including data architecture, database administration, and data integrity management for multiple database schemas. Specific responsibilities include: - Install and maintain Mongo DB database software, manage changes that may occur as a result of system fixes, system changes, enhancements and expansions - Create scalable database models and designs to enhance and determine the need for expansion, enhancement or revision - Coordinate database and systems updates with configuration management and other team member to ensure that all system changes are compliant with development/testing needs and follow strict VA security guidelines - Ensure that software changes, enhancements, expansions, and upgrades are conducted in a timely manner in support of project needs - Collaborate with project teams; security, database and network administrators, Information Security Officers (ISOs), operations support staff, stakeholders (including VA/NCA operations and development staff) and System Administration support staff to maintain optimal operation of applications development, test and production instances of the database. - Perform data migration, persistence and optimization for new MongoDB database structures, as required, for major upgrades and ingestion of new data sources - Utilize log data and system administration tools to diagnose software problems, and adapt, perfect or perform maintenance as indicated - Perform test environment monitoring and load testing on database environments to identify areas of poor performance, system inadequacies, risks and perform the necessary tasks to enhance and tune performance to acceptable levels. - Ensure that backups of the test environment are routinely scheduled and performed. Provide for the restoration of backups, files and databases as needed to restore test environment availability in the event of hardware, security, or administration failure. Log backups in System Maintenance Logs Required Skills and Experience: - 8 years of experience as a Database Administrator - 3 years of experience with MongoDB / No-SQL databases - 5 years of experience with Oracle 10g and 11g Databases - 5 years of experience with Unix - 2 years of database performance tuning and diagnostics - Experience with SQL developer, Toad, and SQL plus - Experience with maintaining Data Quality, Security and Integrity - Establishing Data Standards and creating Data models - Strong writing and verbal communication skills - Strong interpersonal skills. - Problem solving skills - Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and changing priorities - Demonstrated team player and process improvement qualities Desired Skills and Experience: - Experience with Rational Tools Suite - Experience with Department of Veterans Affairs project methodology and development tools - Prior successful VA MBI Clearance - Experience in Java, J2EE, CSS - Experience working with distributed teams. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Minimum Education: Bachelor‘s degree in computer science, physical sciences, mathematics, or business Industry equivalent experience and 10 years of database administration experience.
