Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY: BIT Systems, a CACI company, is looking for a DevOps Engineer to support multiple programs using a shared software baseline.  The position will be responsible for maintaining the applications and configuration of infrastructure services and work with the program teams to produce deployable software releases. RESPONSIBILITIES: - Providing the software releases with up-to-date open source applications (HTTPD, PostgreSQL, etc.) - Managing Koji/Tito or Jenkins build jobs - Generating RPMs from the software baseline using Koji/Tito and Jenkins - Ensuring software release candidates publish to Spacewalk - Assisting the software developers and system administrators with Puppet for configuration of the applications and OS. - Maintaining the Continuous Integration test environment - Assisting the system engineers with installation of release candidates in test and production environments - Assist system administrators and software developers with the transition of the system baseline from RedHat 6 to 7. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Typically requires bachelor‘s degree or equivalent and seven to nine years of related experience.   Required: - Thrive in an energetic, fast-paced environment - learn and become productive quickly and meet team goals, can-do attitude, able to do what it takes to deliver. - Demonstrated ability to work as part of an integrated team, as well as independently. - Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills conducive to team building. - 4+ years expertise with Linux service configuration and/or system administration - 4+ years expertise with scripting languages like bash, Python, Perl or Ruby - 4+ years expertise with the management of RPM repositories, such as Spacewalk - 2+ years expertise using the CVS, Subversion, GIT or similar CM tools - 2+ years expertise using Jenkins, Koji/Tito, or similar RPM builds tools. - 2+ years expertise with Puppet, Chef, Ansible, or similar automation tools - Active TS//SCI Desired: - RHCE certification - Experience with X-MIDAS or Java   PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Normal demands associated with an office environment. Ability to work on computer for long periods, and communicate with individuals by telephone, email and face to face. Some travel may be required.
