POSITION SUMMARY: The Joint Deployable Intelligence Support Systems (JDISS) Joint Program Office (JPO) has an opening for motivated systems integration engineering professional with background in systems integration at United States Pacific Command, Honolulu, Hawaii. JDISS field engineers integrate commercial and government software applications on to create solutions for the Department of Defense (DoD) Intelligence Community (IC). The ideal candidate will have experience integrating software products on Solaris 10, experience writing scripts in a UNIX environment and previous experience with the Global Command and Control Systems Integrated Imagery and Intelligence (GCCS-I3). - Install new releases, upgrades, and patches of JDISS JPO product lines - Train and educate customer personnel on the functions and use of JDISS products - Manage multiple tasks - Perform server maintenance and support - Provide JDISS-related support to the COCOMs, Component Commands, and RSCs - Interface with end-users to resolve hardware, software and training issues - Perform on-going requirements analysis and reporting to supported organizations and JDISS chain of command - Provide System Security safeguards in accordance with local information systems security procedures - Develop and refine Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to streamline future operational support - Provide technical support to the JDISS Account Managers - Assist the JDISS installers when deployed to sites - Assist in resolving customer trouble tickets assigned to the JDISS Help Desk - Provide system administrator support to the JDISS baseline systems - Perform operational evaluations of changes to new JDISS baselines - Analyze training support needs specific to the customer and recommend changes/updates to the JPO - Provide Functional User Training on JDISS Applications - Configure JDISS and non-JDISS Windows and Solaris workstations and servers with new releases and upgrades of COTS and GOTS software and operating systems EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Bachelor degree in engineering, computer science or related discipline and at least six years of relevant experience PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Normal demands associated with an office environment. Ability to work on computer for long periods, and communicate with individuals by telephone, email and face to face. Some travel may be required.
