RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide Tier II network assistance and to all supported facilities. Provide monthly Microsoft updates for all host computers. Update and maintain the Facilities' database/material ordering system. Control user access and roles. Provide monthly reports. Ensure all IT security required policies are in place and followed for the network. Troubleshoot network issues. Provide weekly status updates on projects to management. Installs and configures new server and workstation computer systems and associated hardware and software components. Provides client consulting and training on the interfacing and use of the network facilities. Plans and coordinates computer network initiatives. Researches, evaluates, and recommends new computer network equipment and technologies. Collaborates with other technical staff and management in the testing of new software and network technologies. Devises solutions to operational problems within the capacity and operational limitations of installed equipment. Maintains timely and complete documentation of all daily and project work, using standard methods and procedures. Provides internal consulting, technical guidance, information and support to application developers, computer operations, workstation support, company management and departmental clients. Keeps abreast of relevant technologies and maintains selected technical certifications. May review the work of others and be able to detect errors or needed modifications. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Active SECRET Clearance Required - At a minimum, Security + and an OS certification are required. - Must meet DoD 8570.01M policies EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Typically requires bachelor's degree in or equivalent and five to seven years of related experience. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Normal demands associated with an office environment. Ability to work on computer for long periods, and communicate with individuals by telephone, email and face to face. Some travel may be required.
