POSITION SUMMARY: Systems Engineering Lead providing Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance support for Army acquisition of state-of-the-art Electro-Optic Infrared (EOIR) sensor products. Program is currently in the Engineering and Manufacturing Development phase of the Army Acquisition Life Cycle. Incumbent will lead team of engineers assessing development efforts of three major contractors. RESPONSIBILTIES: Assist Army Product Manager and Assistant Product Manager in day to day operations of a multi-functional team supporting three separate products that use Infrared imaging technologies, electronics, optics and other sensors. Two provide long range Reconnaissance, Surveillance and Target Acquisition capability and the third enables driving in obscurant or low visibility environments. Apply skills and experience to ensure product success within the applicable statutes and regulations required for Army acquisition. Responsible for planning major system upgrades and ensuring program adherence to the DoD 5000 and other associated statutory and regulatory requirements. Normal responsibilities include building and managing Integrated Master Schedules, providing technical and programmatic recommendations, leading meetings, and ensuring team is performing required tasks. Candidate will frequently interface with large DoD system vendors to ensure their compliance to contracts. Required Qualifications: - Requires Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent and 12-15 years of experience, including 3-5 years of supervisory/management experience. - Strong knowledge of Infrared technology from an engineering perspective. - Proven ability to facilitate small to medium size teams (5-10 people) and synchronize activities of a larger geographically dispersed team. - Ability to present complex and technical issues to a variety of audiences. - Good written and verbal skills, including briefing senior executives. - Strong skills with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Project. Desired Qualifications: - Ability to analyze complex concepts related to infrared systems and subsystems from hardware, software, and performance perspectives. - Working knowledge of optics, electronic, circuit card design, electro-mechanical design, DoD test processes and/or software. - Experience with DoD acquisition category II programs and Government contracting.
