As a member of a dynamic team of business analysts, testers, developers and DBAs supporting a large ASP.NET and SQL Server based acquisition system at a US Veteran's Administration (VA) facility located in Frederick, MD the successful candidate will: - Lead a dedicated team of two Senior Test Engineers and coordinate adjunct testers for various releases consisting of Business Analysts and application Users. - Coordinate with developers, analysts, testing staff and functional end users to create test plans and test scripts. - Perform Testing and write and approve test reports (Production releases may require working in the evening). - Participate in Release Scheduling, Configuration Management and Master Scheduling discussions and meetings with customers. - Oversee all test events, managing multiple test events simultaneously. Coordinating and staffing the test events in 4 customer environments (test, pre-production, training and production). - Coordinate with test sites and other team participants to plan test events. - Prepare and conduct performance testing using automation in Team Foundation Server (TFS). - Monitor and updates bug reports as needed including bug report closure. - Bachelor's Degree in computer science, electronics engineering or other engineering or technical discipline is required. 8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education. - 10 years of Testing experience of progressively increasing complexity. - Experience managing test teams in Waterfall and Agile environments. - Demonstrated technical expertise testing ASP.NET and MS SQL Server applications. - Demonstrated experience writing, maintaining and enforcing a Master Test Plan based regimen. - Demonstrated experience in writing and assisting in the development of test plans and test procedures. - Experience tracking and preparing reports of testing activities such as, testing results, test case coverage, required resources, defects discovered and their status, and performance baselines. - 2 Years as leader of a Test Team. - NACI Clearance must be obtainable. - Excellent oral and written communication skills. Desired Qualifications: - 3 years of experience as leader of a test Team. - Hands-on experience with automation of Application Testing using Team Foundation Server. - Hands-on experience with automation of Performance Testing using Team Foundation Server. - A certification from a recognized authority as a Software Tester. - ITIL Foundation or higher certification PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Normal demands associated with an office environment. Ability to work on computer for long periods, and communicate with individuals by telephone, email and face to face. Some travel may be required.
