POSITION SUMMARY: Serves as a company expert to acquisition clients. Responsible for providing acquisition support by maintaining various databases, assisting in the development of strategic plans, and coordinating program inputs for deliverables. Participates in the analysis and resolution of complex problems relating to government acquisition and program management. RESPONSIBILTIES: · Performs research and works with senior management in order to develop documentation (including presentations, reports, and analyses) that support and strengthen strategic goals and efforts. · Authors acquisition documentation and briefings as well as other deliverables. Supports the review of acquisition documentation by internal and external customers and works with senior management to guide documents through the various approval processes. · Understands the major aspects of the DoD acquisition cycle from basic research to production and test. · Updates organizational policy and practices to incorporate changes in statute, economic conditions, or best practices in use in the industry. · Provides leadership from knowledge of industry best practices and the most current developments in acquisition. May oversee the creation of procedures and presentations that document acquisition practices. · Able to €œstand in€ for senior management at relevant meetings and conferences to present the organization's position on issues, products, and efforts. · Works with senior management to identify important acquisition issues. Prepares reports to management that identify problems as well as potential solutions. · Provides regular reporting to senior management on acquisition issues. Researches and recommends acquisition policies and procedures to senior management. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: - Required: - Former military officer. - Current Secret clearance. - Bachelor's degree or 15 years military service. - Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word. - Public speaking experience. - Working knowledge of the DoD 5000 series of acquisition documents. - Desired: - Acquisition experience in a government program office or naval navigation experience. - Experience using Microsoft Project and relational databases such as Microsoft Access. - Experience using SharePoint. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Normal demands associated with an office environment. Ability to work on computer for long periods and communicate with individuals by telephone, email and face to face. Some travel may be required.
