Candidate will provide Information System Security Engineering expertise throughout the system's entire lifecycle in accordance with DoD Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP), NIST 800-37 Certification and Accreditation (C&A) methodologies and DoD Instruction 8570.1-M. Must have hands-on experience in conducting C&A activities, which include developing the security requirements, developing artifacts, conducting Security Test and Evaluations (ST&Es), developing risk assessments, and documenting the information system in security system analysis plans through all accreditation activities. Will provide network environment (NE) and advanced level Computing Environment (CE) support; paying special attention to intrusion detection, finding and fixing unprotected vulnerabilities, and ensuring that remote access points are well secured. Focus on threats and vulnerabilities and improve the security of systems POSITION SUMMARY: As an emerging expert performs a variety of complex tasks associated with information security ranging from the design of security components to complex architectures. Directs the work of other engineers performing a variety of information security tasks. Capable of independent project supervision. RESPONSIBILTIES: Responsibilities shall include but are not limited to, apply instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform IA tasks within CE. Provide end user IA support for all CE operating systems, peripherals, and applications. Support, monitor, test, and troubleshoot hardware and software IA problems pertaining to their CE. Apply appropriate CE access controls. Implement applicable patches including IA vulnerability alerts (IAVA), IA vulnerability bulletins (IAVB), and technical advisories (TA) for the CE operating system(s). Install, test, maintain, and upgrade network operating systems software and hardware to comply with IA requirements. Support Security Test and Evaluations (Part of C&A Process). REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Active Top Secret. SCI must be obtainable. Candidate must possess at least 5+ years' experience in interpreting and implementing DoD directives, instructions, and policies that provide direction and guidance and applying them to CE and NE. Experience installing, maintaining, administering, and troubleshooting networks. Experience with network security architecture to include, but not limited to; firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention (IDS/IPS) systems, web proxies, and content filtering devices, encryption devices, and DoD Public Key Infrastructure (PKI). Experience in incident handling and response. Minimum certification requirements in accordance with DoD Approved 8570 Baseline Certifications; CCNA Security, GIC SP, GSEC, Security + CE, SSCP. Complete WINDOWS 10 training (via Skillport) within 1 month of hire date EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent and seven to nine years related experience. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Normal demands associated with an office environment. Ability to work on computer for long periods, and communicate with individuals by telephone, email and face to face. Some travel may be required.
