Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY: We are in need of a Telecommunications Technician to provide Life Cycle Sustainment and Maintenance (LCSM) support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year for deployable satellite communication systems, via telephone, email and/or on-site support to maintain operational status.  FSR will provide technical support on all equipment and material under the SDN/ SCOSS program.   RESPONSIBILTIES: Responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and supporting all telecommunications services on systems on land and at sea. Position will require providing support to equipment on ships while at sea. Assist in the design of networks or portions of networks that include selection of hardware and software packages.  Assist in voice network reconfiguration and billing reconciliation. Ensure that all software including network control programs satisfy the communications needs covering both the hardware and software installed. Serve as a liaison to users, departments and vendors by providing the assistance on all aspects of C4ISR services and systems used throughout the organization. Assist in service/ system upgrades while being a team player involving C4Isr projects. Perform analysis in determining business processes improvements utilizing C4ISR systems. Provide troubleshooting and diagnostic support for all related systems, equipment failures, or service issues. Install and test C4ISR systems and components. Must be a recognized expert who has demonstrated leadership in Joint Warfighter C4ISR systems development, logistics support or test & evaluation. Must be able to successfully process thru CRC for potential OCONUS deployments. Able to deploy to possibly hazardous duty locations with short notice for extended periods of time including Naval vessels.   EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Typically requires bachelor's degree and or twelve (12) years of hands-on experience with Joint Warfighter C4ISR systems to include three (3) of the following four (4) areas: Systems Requirements, Operational Requirements, Test & Evaluation, and Training.    Technical Training in DoD C4ISR systems to include Satellite Communications Equipment or Networking Equipment.   Active Secret with ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI. Must have a passport on hand. Must be able to deploy to hazardous duty locations with short notice for extended periods of time.   PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Normal demands associated with an office environment. Ability to work on computer for long periods, and communicate with individuals by telephone, email and face to face. Some travel may be required.
