Job Description: Linux System Administrator to support the Defense Health Agency.  We are looking for a Linux administrator who will be responsible for designing, implementing, and monitoring the SUSe and RHEL infrastructure; also, to collaborate with other team members to develop automation strategies and deployment processes. You will become an integral part of the team, making every problem of the platform a problem of your own, and solving them accordingly.   Duties and Responsibilities: - Provides team technical guidance to less experienced systems administrators. - Provisioning, installation/configuration of system hardware and software - Help tune performance and ensure high availability of infrastructure - Maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure efforts and tasking - Design and develop infrastructure monitoring and reporting tools - Working knowledge of securing a Linux system according to DISA Information Assurance guidelines and strategies - Reviews performance logs and monitors system performance - Develop and maintain configuration management solutions - Ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to defined organizational values - Develop test automation frameworks in collaboration with rest of the team - Create tools to help teams make the most out of the available infrastructure - Work with the team to develop a modernization plan of the existing hardware, to include but not limited to, Cloud based solutions - Troubleshooting support: - TIER 1 Linux Support (to include but not limited to): - Supported the basic trouble shoot efforts - Customer issue troubleshooting and resolution - Operating System issues troubleshooting and resolution - Active Directory issue troubleshooting and resolution - Hardware issue troubleshooting and resolution - Certificate issue troubleshooting and resolution - Web Service issue troubleshooting and resolution - Database issue troubleshooting and resolution - TIER 2 Linux Support (to include but not limited to): - Connectivity troubleshooting - Packet dropping troubleshooting and resolution - A-sync routing issue troubleshooting and resolution - Firewall issue troubleshooting and resolution - Upstream network issue troubleshooting and resolution - DNS issue troubleshooting and resolution - Whitelist issue and troubleshooting resolution   Required Skills: - Experience with Linux servers in virtualized environments - Familiarity with the fundamentals of Linux scripting languages - Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining services such as Bind, Apache, MySQL, nginx, etc. - Strong grasp on configuration management tools, such as load balancing, firewalls, etc. - Understanding and familiarity with Puppet and Chef Familiarity - Proficient with network tools such as IPTables, Linux IPVS, HAProxy, etc. - Ability to build and monitor services on production servers - Knowledge of servers and switches - Understanding and familiarity with Data Warehousing and Data Lake theories and technology - Familiarity with HADOOP and MPP hardware and operating platforms  Required Qualifications: - A current Secret clearance is required - Requires bachelor's degree or equivalent, and five to seven years of related experience - CompTIA Security+ certified - Linux Foundation Certified SYSADMIN or Linux Foundation Certified Engineer Certification  Desired Qualifications: - Microsoft Windows Security MCP
