POSITION SUMMARY: This person will assist in all aspects of production providing creativity and judgment to devise approaches to accomplish work, resolve design and operational problems, and make decisions in situations where standard engineering methods, procedures, and techniques may not be applicable in order to complete complex production efforts. RESPONSIBILTIES: Provides guidance to technicians assisting with the methods and procedures required to fabricate, assemble, install, and test a variety of experimental components, materials, apparatus, and equipment Assist with managing Solidworks Enterprise PDM and all subsequent daily maintenance tasks and configuration changes Conducts design reviews Performs part and design acceptance checks and may include travel for on-site first article inspections Resolves design and implementation issues Develops and design equipment Produces detailed 2D and 3D drawings for production efforts, manuals, and proposals Prepares complex engineering analysis to validate preliminary designs, life cycle cost, and equipment selection; Reviews the analysis of less advanced engineers or technicians Reviews development plans for compliance with adopted engineering standards and good engineering practices Through research or other proven industry accepted processes, validates proper engineering fundamentals are being followed REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Proven ability to effectively communicate design intent required to fabricate, assemble, install, and test a variety of experimental components, materials, apparatus, and equipment Proficient in Solidworks Enterprise PDM Possess ability to perform part and design acceptance checks Experience with resolving design and part assembly implementation issues Possess ability to develop and design military systems Possess ability to complete detailed 2D and 3D drawings for production efforts, manuals, and proposals Possess ability to review complex engineering analysis to validate preliminary designs, life cycle cost, and equipment selection Possess ability to review development plans for compliance with adopted engineering standards and good engineering practices Possess ability to research professional and scientific work in various engineering disciplines to validate proper engineering fundamentals are being followed DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS A Certified SOLIDWORKS Expert (CSWE). Certified Enterprise PDM Administrator (CEPA) EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Typically requires bachelor's degree or equivalent with seven to nine years of experience. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Normal demands associated with an office environment. Ability to work on computer for long periods, and communicate with individuals by telephone, email and face to face. Some travel may be required.
