Job Description

CACI’s Business and Information Technology Solutions (BITS) Sector, is seeking a Cloud SME to support a large, prime Intelligence contract in Hanover, MD. 

What You’ll Get to Do:
The Cloud Subject Matter Expert (SME) will be part of a robust and fast-paced organization responsible for the design, development, and deployment of the Mission Utility Cloud (MUC) and other cloud services.  

In this role, you will be responsible for selecting, developing, and adapting FOSS, COTS and GOTS software for use in Cloud Infrastructure Services arena. 

Additionally, the Cloud SME will contribute to developing and adapting core features and functionality of the OpenStack software stack or other cloud environments.

To be successful in this role, you must be innovative, think outside of restrictive parameters, possess a thorough understanding of DevOps, and push the approach beyond the typical cloud design.   

Other areas of focus will include:

  • Scripting and coding skills for integration
  • Software development and deployment
  • Software testing
  • Submit monthly status reports to the customer
  • Submit engineering reports on network problems, issues, risks and solutions to the customer as required
  • Deliver system requirements and specifications as directed
  • Deliver software code and documentation as directed

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in a technical discipline and 10 years of Systems Engineering experience.  Additional experience may be substituted for degree.
  • Current TS/SCI Poly clearance
  • Ten (10) years of software development/engineering experience in Python/Perl/Ruby/Java
  • Advanced networking skills (open vSwitch)
  • Advanced administration skills (RHEL/CentOS, Ubuntu, Unix, Alpine)
  • Experience using YAML/JSON
  • Experience using revisioning systems such as GIT or SVN
  • Experience using or developing a configuration management platform such as Puppet or Ansible

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Messaging services such as rabbitmq, tibeo, qpid, etc
  • Python Django
  • DEVOPS understanding and implementation experience
  • Developing and integrating against APIs
  • Using or administration of OpenStack or other IaaS control platforms
  • Hosting VMs using Libvirt/QEMU
