Job Description

CACI is seeking talented, creative and highly motivated undergraduate and/or graduate students for Internship assignments to work as rising Computer Science, Electrical Engineers, Info Science and Physics . We are seeking the ‘best and brightest’ with a passion to solve tough challenges through innovation and the application of science and technology.  This position will be in support of the National Security & Innovation Solutions sector within CACI.

What You’ll Get to Do:

  • The Cyber Department performs basic and applied research and prototype development in various aspects of cyber and general network security.  
  • You will be involved with and learn general software development with potential for low-level kernel programming.
  • Particular focus areas include software development, data engineering, and data science problem.
  • Co-ops have an opportunity to be involved in real-time embedded software development using leading edge Cavium, MIPS, x86 multi-core processors to support deep packet analysis.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Broad computer science/computer engineering and networking background including broad knowledge of IP (v4 and v6) and computer and network security.
  • Experience and interest in some of the following technology areas desired: Architecture and design of secure data communications networks, both conventional and wireless; mobile IP, IP multicast; network security, especially security of the Internet and WWW; security strengths and weaknesses of protocols at the network, transport, and application layers; intrusion detection systems; information security systems; firewalls; antivirus systems; honeypots; security of Windows operating systems and applications; virtual private networks; fingerprinting, scanning, and hacking techniques; VoIP ; etc.
  • Candidates should be creative, innovative thinkers.
  • Knows how to navigate around a Linux system.
  • Familiar with mobile app development on Android or iOS.
  • Strong independent work ethic and evidence of problem solving capability and communication (as evidenced by concrete contributions to undergraduate/graduate research w/ presentations, posters, etc, or prior internship experiences)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft software applications and other software applications as required (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Sqlite, Docker, Kubernetes, OpenStack, oVirt).
  • Strong in at least one of C/C++, Java, Python, Perl, Go
  • Mathematics analysis tools such as MATLAB.
  • HOL Frameworks & Programming in HOL such as C / C++ .
  • Source Code Control.
  • Protocols Synthesis and Analysis.
  • Math / Signal Processing / Linear Algebra.

Minimum Education and Training:

  • Currently pursing a Bachelor's Degree, or
  • Graduate studies leading to MS or Ph. D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Info Science.
  • Must currently be enrolled in High School OR a full-time Undergraduate, Graduate, or Doctorate student
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance (if applicable to position)

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred, not required
  • Previous internship/co-op or other work experience, leadership and teamwork capabilities, interpersonal communication skills, and activities (professional/community/extracurricular)
