Job Description

What You’ll Get to Do:

As an intern, you will support a variety of tasks including software programming and maintenance, data analysis, and user support in Training Systems and Tools. Software Languages may include C/C++, Java, Ada, along with web-technologies. You will provide technical support to maintain and advance capabilities of Navy computing systems (Aegis, Ballistic Missile Defense, etc.).

More About the Role:

Tasks may include, but are not limited to:

  • Applications software development, potentially in an Agile development Environment
  • Virtualization/containerization technologies
  • Operating systems (Linux, Solaris, HP, VxWorks, etc.)
  • Hardware
  • Middleware Integration
  • Assist the project team with gathering requirements.
  • Code, test and debug computer programs.
  • Assists in designing and implementing new functionality, processes and systems (both automated and manual).

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Interpersonal skills to interact with customers and team members
  • Communication skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills for design, creation and testing of programs
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Must currently be enrolled in High School OR a full-time Undergraduate, Graduate, or Doctorate student
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Experience with system development or system analysis
  • Experience working with relevant programming languages, operating systems, hardware and software
  • If Undergraduate or Graduate, pursing a degree in computer science/MIS or related field is
  • preferred, not required
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred, not required
  • Previous internship/co-op or other work experience, leadership and teamwork capabilities, interpersonal communication skills, and activities (professional/community/extracurricular)
