Are you a highly organized, self-starter interested in providing data analysis and related support to the Director for Defense Laboratories and Personnel within the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering (OUSD(R&E)).
The Defense Laboratories and Personnel Office carries out a range of core functions related to the defense laboratories, warfare centers, and engineering centers, including the aggregation of data, analysis of capabilities, alignment of activities, as well as advocacy for the laboratories and centers. In addition to DoD laboratory matters, the Director leads the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Development Office within the DoD; ensures interchange with Allied friendly nations; and provides advice and assistance in developing policies for rapid technology transition within the Department.
This position allows for the flexibility to work-from-home during current circumstances.
More About the Role:
Conduct research across various sources to support the Director’s oversight and assessment of various activities related to the DoD laboratories and warfare centers, FFRDCs, UARCs, STEM and Technology Transfer programs;
Perform in-depth analysis of existing data and provide recommendations for data not currently tracked or recorded;
Generate performance metrics for the Laboratory programs;
Provide recommendations for the visualization of information;
Interpret data; analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports and feedback;
Create visual representations, graphs, charts, and tables for a wide range of data;
Organize and deliver data in decision-quality form for use in executive briefings, reports to Congress, and other messaging;
Support the development of responses to Departmental, Federal, and Congressional data calls and requests for information; and
Maintain data in appropriate databases, verify accuracy in data sets, and assist in the resolution of data anomalies.n.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
Five (5) years’ recent and relevant experience in data management and analysis with demonstrated progressive responsibility in support of the DoD enterprise is preferred;
A master’s degree from an accredited college or university is required.Degree requirement waived in lieu of significant recent and relevant work experience: minimum of five (5) years’ active duty military or minimum of ten (10) years’ experience
Work experience in positions requiring exceptional oral and written communication skills and above-average skills in MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel applications as well as data analytic and visualization tools;
Demonstrated ability to perform at a high-level under short deadlines; and
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize work assignments is required .
