Under direct supervision and guidance, work closely with project teams developing embedded software for cutting-edge optical systems.

Perform work under close mentor guidance including but not limited to:

  • Development of embedded software and tools to support software development
  • Test and troubleshooting of embedded software
  • Integration of software with electrical and electro-optical hardware
  • Gain knowledge in focus areas including embedded software, real-time operating systems, and interfacing software with hardware

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Enrollment in a 4 year degree program leading to a BS or BE in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a related field
  • Broad computer engineering, electrical engineering, or computer science background including knowledge of software development, computer architecture, and digital hardware
  • Knowledge of Microsoft software applications and other software applications as required
  • Experience programming in C and/or C++
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python
  • Experience with or coursework in real-time operating systems
  • Experience with source code management tools such as GitPreferred Qualifications: N8:N9

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Travel to other LGS Locations or Customer Sites as necessary
  • Understand and adhere to all LGS Ethical and Compliance policies
  • Proactively ensure a safe work environment and adhere to LGS EH&S policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties as required
  • Consistent and reliable attendance required
  • If required, obtain/retain a government security clearance at the level required to perform the duties of the position
  • Work is typically performed in an office environment which requires proper safety precautions. Work may require some physical effort in the handling of light materials, boxes, or equipment.
