What You’ll Get to Do:
CACI has an excellent opportunity for an experienced, self-directed, Messaging Systems Engineer. This position is in support of a Department of Defense (DoD) organization, US EUCOM located OCONUS in Stuttgart, Germany.
Messaging System Engineers is required to perform duties which include the following:
Participate as a member of engineering and integration teams to design, configure, and install new U.S. military C4 system instant messaging and email hardware and software on existing classified and unclassified networks, including full-range testing of the old and new components to make sure that they work together well, that they perform the function they are designed to perform, that they can be supported after they are installed, and that they can be expanded when the military mission requires it.
Identify the source and nature of complex instant messaging and email outages, hardware and software malfunctions, and service calls reported by end-users and determine solutions to resolve them.
Test solutions to service calls under operational conditions and then implement the recommended solution to each end-user problem.
Continually monitor the effectiveness of end-user Command and Control (C2) hardware and software and IM & email systems under military conditions including day-to-day operations, deployed command centers, and crisis situations.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
Currently hold an adjudicated Secret Clearance and be able to maintain
BA/BS + 3 years recent specialized or AA/AS +7 years recent specialized or a major cert + 7 years recent specialized or 11 years of recent specialized experience
Microsoft MCSE Productivity Solutions Expert or MCSE: Messaging - If MCSE productivity certification is missing or expired, must be acquired within 6 months if hired for the position
The years of experience can be any combination of one or more of the following:
Troubleshooting and resolving server side faults and outages.
Installing, upgrading, configuring, and maintaining IM and email servers and associated relationships, associated system software, and applications software.
Monitoring the effectiveness of server hardware and software, such as servers running Windows Server 2012R2, Windows Server 2016, or Messaging Gateways running Symantec Messaging Gateway OS 10.X (proprietary Linux distribution).
Providing solutions to end-user requirements using IM and persistent chat systems and interfaces with automated information systems.
Analyzing and troubleshooting the security of networked systems.
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
ITIL v3 – Foundation
CompTIA Security + (IAT Level II or greater)
Experience with Microsoft Skype for Business
Experience with Microsoft Exchange Server
Experience with Microsoft Teams
Experience with Cisco Jabber
Understanding of Department of Defense Military standards
