As an AFRICOM Graphics Design Specialist/Knowledge Manager, you will translate AFRICOM requirements into a wide variety of visually appealing graphic products and planning tools while managing the workflow, archiving, and safeguarding of those digital products. Requirements will vary in complexity and sophistication and may include designed environmental exhibits, posters, brochures, publications, infographics, branding, digitally generated portraits, digital signage, original artwork, briefing presentations, multi-media, and interactive PDFs. Consumers will include senior military General and Flag Officers, Senior Executive Service employees of the DOD, and partner-nation senior government officials. You will provide reliable, accurate, and state of the art multimedia support essential to ensure AFRICOM is able to communicate strategic and operational level plans and operations more effectively.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Utilize industry standard graphic design tools and Adobe Creative software.
Liaise with stakeholders.
Coordinate on IT related issues.
Maintain SharePoint portals in accordance with governmental portal requirements.
Coordinate IT user accounts and permissions.
Provide IT support, including but not limited to; general troubleshooting, system/application migrations, and software or hardware updates.
Build and maintain information sharing and collaboration spaces using SharePoint, Telligent, and other collaboration interfaces.
Represent the directorate during Command Knowledge Management Working Groups and meetings.
Create graphic products to communicate information to a variety of audiences and to respond to different visual requirements.
Create digital video productions for broadcast via the web.
Procure and utilize directed software.
Train AFRICOM Staff to sustain and maintain graphic design and knowledge management systems.
Participate in Joint Planning teams and working groups to understand the efforts and purposes to build supporting products.
Provide computer-generated materials for publications, presentations and infographics.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, Interactive Design, Mass Communications, Advertising, or Marketing.
6 years’ experience as a Graphic Designer.
2 years’ experience providing graphic design support to a COCOM, T-SOC, or Service Command.
2 years’ experience as a knowledge manager in DoD.
Required Skills, Clearances, etc.:
Artistic ability, creativity, imagination and design layout skills with knowledge of graphic arts and computerized software to include desktop publishing.
Experience with multimedia, infographics and data visualization software to include Adobe and Illustrator products.
Expert knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite / Creative Cloud products).
Skill as a graphic designer valued more than skill as a knowledge manager if the candidate demonstrates the ability to learn new skills quickly.
Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance.

Experience and education gained from various certifications such as: A+ CE, CCNA-Security, Network+ CE, SSCP, CSA+, GICSP, GSEC, CASP CE, CISA, GCED, GCIH, CAP, GSLC, CASP CE, CISM, CISSP, CSSLP, CEH, CFR, GCIA, GIC SP, SCYBER as well as SharePoint and KM certifications.
