CACI is hiring for a cleared Tier III System Administration and Help Desk to provide problem identification, diagnosis, and problem resolution support of the Converged Infrastructure (CI) in support of Distributed Processing, Exploitation and Dissemination (DPED) for the Operational Intelligence Ground Station in support of Force Protection operations CONUS and OCONUS who will provide Tier 3 sustainment to the CI capability at the Pacific PED Service Center on Ft Shafter, HI.
What You’ll Get to Do:
Responsible for resolving IT hardware and software infrastructure (servers, network, security, etc.) issues using systems analysis techniques and procedures to ensure appropriate function of hardware, software or system functional specifications.
Analyze, troubleshoots and resolves issues with IT infrastructure including user systems, servers, storage and network connectivity. Provides system administration for assigned infrastructure and establishes and maintains security as it relates to users.
Apply security patches and operating system upgrades to ensure the security and integrity of the technical environment.
Support new infrastructure projects and maintains all configuration documentation for assigned infrastructure.
Provide onsite integration and engineering expertise in support of the DPED mission and ISR modernization to include information assurance (IA) support.
Provide immediate resolution to system issues associated to the thin client hardware or software architecture on a 24/7 basis.
System Administration: 24 x 7 system administrators with elevated privileges, to:
Administer physical and virtual Red Hat Linux servers, including server deployment, kernel compilation, operating system patching, component installation and configuration, and updating packages
Manage servers in development, testing, and production environments, and web/application/database tiers while adhering to proper change management and security procedures
Oversee troubleshooting and quickly resolve performance issues such as resource contention, I/O bottlenecks, and network connectivity
Support servers/VMs in production servers. RPM and YUM package installations, system/server patches and upgrades, maintain NFS services in Linux. Backup and restore tools. Storage and Logical volume management
Evaluate configurations, vulnerabilities, and risks in relation to the agency’s security model and industry standards
Manage Apache Web Server configuration, virtual server creation, and SSL/TLS settings
Recommend, schedule, and/or implement CI related repairs within the enclave environment.
Support actions to quickly resolve or mitigate IA problems for the enclave environment.
Support the installation of new or modified hardware, operating systems, and software applications ensuring integration with IA security requirements for the enclave
Examine enclave vulnerabilities and determine actions to mitigate them
Implement applicable patches including IA vulnerability alerts (IAVA), IA vulnerability bulletins (IAVB), and technical advisories (TA).
Coordinate and/or provide support for all enclave applications and operations
Recognize a potential security violation, take appropriate action to report the incident as required by regulation, and mitigate any adverse impact.
Manage accounts, network rights, and access to CI systems and equipment.
Cross Domain System Administration: Provide cross domain system (CDS) administration with elevated privileges, to:
Recommend, schedule, and/or implement CDS related repairs within the enclave environment.
Identify and remedy inefficiencies with systems and procedures, while delivering server tuning for application performance and capacity
Apply technical knowledge in troubleshooting, system integration, and migration of Linux and/or Microsoft Windows operating systems
Implement CDS applicable patches including IA vulnerability alerts (IAVA), IA vulnerability bulletins (IAVB), and technical advisories (TA).
Recognize a potential security violation, take appropriate action to report the incident as required by regulation, and mitigate any adverse impact
Manage accounts, network rights, and access to CDS systems and equipment.
Information System Security Officer: Perform the function of Information System Security Officer (ISSO) for the CI system installed and operational at Ft Shafter, HI.
Supervise or manage protective or corrective measures when an IA incident or vulnerability is discovered.
Ensure that IA security requirements are appropriately identified in computer environment operation procedures.
Ensure that IA and IA enabled software, hardware, and firmware comply with appropriate network environment security configuration guidelines, policies, and procedures.
Advise the Authorizing Official (AO) and CI System Owner (SO) of any changes affecting the network environment/enclave's IA posture.
Ensure IAT Levels I – III, IAM Levels I and II, and anyone with privileged access performing IA functions receive the necessary initial and sustaining IA training and certification(s) to carry out their IA duties.
Assist the supported IAM (INSCOM G7 IAM) in ensuring that a C&A package is prepared and maintained IAW DIACAP or RMF procedures.
Participate in monthly Change Control Board (CCB) meetings.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
Active TS/SCI with Poly.
Bachelor Degree (preferable Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or other related Technical Discipline).
3 years experience working in discipline.
Experience in deploying and managing servers in a VMWare ESX virtual environment
Experience designing and administering high available/load balanced systems
Experience or more using shell, Ruby, Python, PHP, Bash, or Perl.to automate daily OS level tasks and monitoring
Working knowledge with automation/management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, GitHub, and RedHat Satellite.
Working knowledge of DNS, SNMP, LDAP, SSH, and certificate management
Remain information assurance compliant, IAW AR 25-2 Chapter 3 and DoD 8570.01-M and be able to perform the following functions.
Required to attend engineering related technical reviews, exercise support, field test, preoperational reviews, training material reviews, and budget reviews in support of CI and DPED.
Must possess the necessary training and certification is in accordance with DOD 8570.01-M.
IA Level: IAT II.
IA Level: IAM I.
A minimum of one or more of the following certifications is required:
Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or higher
Giac Certified Unix Security Administrator
LPIC-2: Linux Engineer
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
5-10 experience working in discipline.
