Job Description


What You’ll Get to Do:

  • Serve as an Agile Scrum team member providing software development and maintenance for the delivery of releasable software in short sprint cycles.
  • Responsible for activities associated with delivery of software solutions associated with customer-defined systems and software projects by working in close collaboration with software developers/engineers, stakeholders, and end users within Agile processes.
  • Design, develop and implement custom frontend code based on Angular 2+ and integration with several micro-services (written in Spring Boot) for a major modernization effort of a legacy system with limited oversight.
  • Work with CX Designer on translating lo/hi-fidelity screen mockups into application frontend screens.
  • Web application developing using HTML5, CSS3, and modern JavaScript frameworks to develop interactive and responsive interfaces for use across platforms, devices, and browsers.
  • Work alongside Scrum Masters, Business Analysts, and Developers to facilitating the flow of continuous development through a secure, stable pipeline.
  • Support both on premise and cloud hosted web applications.
  • Act as a member of a product team supporting teammates and collaborating with a do what it takes attitude to ensure product and team success.
  • Provide improvements to the product(s) being supported.
  • Actively participate in release and sprint planning, artifact creation, sprint testing, regression testing, demonstrations and retrospectives and solution releases.
  • Support release planning with conceptual design and development / refinement of software engineering guidelines.
  • Analyze complex project-related problems and creating innovative solutions involving, scheduling, technology, methodology, tools and solution components.
  • Ensure product quality and timeliness of work, providing advice and guidance, resolving problems to meet objectives, and providing periodic performance reports.
  • Provide mentoring to junior members of the team.



You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to pass CBP background investigation, criteria include but are not limited to:

o    3 year check for felony convictions
o    1 year check for illegal drug use
o    1 year check for misconduct such as theft or fraud 

  • College degree (B.S.) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Management Systems or a related discipline.  Equivalent professional experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Professional Experience: at least seven (7) years related development experience (across all development languages with focus on Angular 2+ over past 3 years), along with development and implementation in a cloud environment (such as AWS)
  • College degree (B.S.) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Management Systems or a related discipline.  Equivalent professional experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Professional Experience: at least seven (7) years related development experience (across all development languages with focus on Angular 2+ over past 3 years), along with development and implementation in a cloud environment (such as AWS).
  • 3 years developing web applications using the Angular 2+ – 7 frameworks (or other modern frameworks, with a focus on Angular).
  • 5+ years developing with and using JavaScript, TypeScript, CSS3, and HTML5.
  • 3+ experience developing unit test with tools such as Jasmine and End-To-End testing with tools such as Protractor.
  • 2+ years of experience with repository tools such as Git or Bitbucket and project tracking. 
  • Experience with systems such as Jira.
  • Strong understanding of modern infrastructures and large initiative deployments.
  • Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum or Kanban methodologies) and applying automation techniques with multiple teams operating in parallel.
  • Strong understanding of TDD, CI/CD, automation, and micro-services (preferred).
  • Experience with source code control systems, code branching and concurrent development workflows (GitLab preferred).
  • Frontend development experience working with video, GIS and live streaming data. (pref).
  • Experience with Section 508 compliance. 
  • Experience with Java; Familiarity with any of the following: Hibernate (or other ORM), JavaScript, XML, JSON, Eclipse, maven, AWS Cloud Formation, junit, and shell scripting.
  • Work on unusually complicated problems and providing solutions that are highly creative and ingenious, exhibiting ingenuity, creativity, and resourcefulness.
  • Ability to act independently to expose and resolve problems.
  • Experience with source code control systems and concurrent development workflows (Git preferred).
  • Ability to apply estimation techniques to software development efforts.
  • Working knowledge of and ability to assist others in the use of software engineering tools to support process improvement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong collaboration skills and desire to work within a team.
  • Understanding of all elements of the software development life cycle, including planning, development, requirements management, CM, quality assurance, and release management.
  • Highly responsible, team-oriented individual with very strong work ethic and a self-starter.
