Air Operations Instructor Individual will support organization, planning, and execution of Air Operations Training, per NTTP 3-05.26M to include Static-line and Military Free Fall parachute operations and Helicopter-borne operations, i.e. NSW Helicopter Rope Suspension Techniques/Cast (HRST/C) and air-land operations. Instruction also includes land and water Static Line and Military Freefall operations from fixed wing and rotary wing platforms, and instructor must be able to jump 6-15 times per day. Other duties and responsibilities include:
Liase with Air Division and SEAL Team Operations Departments regarding training schedules and equipment and/or personnel shortfalls and personnel requirements.
Military Freefall Jumpmaster/Instructor certification per the instructions identified in paragraph 11 (COMNAVSPECWARCOM INST 3000.3B Air Operations Manual)
Ability to become High Altitude Physiology School (HAPS) qualified
Assists in coordination with other civilian or military organizations and Government agencies for training support systems and asset coordination.
Subject Matter Expert and able to instruct and participate as an active jumper in the following:
Standard and non-standard freefall and static-line parachute systems operations, functionality and use.
Standard operations are defined as those related to body posture, airspeed control and maneuvering in a commercial, leisure environment
Non-standard operations are defined as those related to tactical and combative in a military/contingency environment.
Canopy control procedures
Performing aerial patterns
Body flight progression
Rotary-wing (helicopter) insertion and extraction techniques
Additional instructor qualifications:
Minimum United States Parachute Association (USPA) Accelerated Freefall Instructor Level I certified
FAA Qualified Senior or Master Parachute Rigger
International Body Flight Association (IBA) Level 1 or better Vertical Wind Tunnel Instructor
Qualified as MTZ-XX Freefall/MC-6 Static Line Jumpmaster, Air Operations Examiner, and Drop Zone Safety Officer
Experience with land and water Static Line and Military Freefall operations from fixed wing and rotary wing platforms.
