Job Description

Mastodon/CACI is looking to hire an Electrical Test Engineer to support our expanding product portfolio. As an Electrical Test Engineer, you will be responsible for qualifying and introducing new product platforms to operations, developing and sustaining test fixture product platforms for manufacturing product lines, as well as provide technical guidance to operations personnel.  You will also provide Design for Test (DFT) feedback to product development teams and provide support for engineering test change requirements. You will be operating in a dynamic manufacturing and engineering environment with continuous interaction with key Mastodon personnel.

Primary Responsibilities

A candidate in this position will perform many duties, including the following:

  • Qualify and introduce new products from initial product concept phases through full product release.
  • Read and interpret product specifications, electrical schematics, interface control documents (ICD’s), and produce optimal product test solutions from board level through final assembly.
  • Work closely with the hardware engineering team to establish sound measurement science fundamentals on all subassemblies, circuit boards, final assemblies, and OEM systems.
  • Develop test fixture platforms for manufacturing product lines, including circuit boards and finished goods.
  • Qualify product parametric performance with electrical test equipment such as RF test equipment, oscilloscopes, and other general electronic test equipment. 
  • Provide Design for Test (DFT) feedback to product development teams
  • Drives product test issues to closure
  • Provide test support for ECO’s, ECR’s, first article inspection (FAI) testing, factory acceptance testing (FAT) and critical production line issues
  • Synthesize test documentation detailing product test plans and procedures for all Mastodon products
  • Introduce new platform test capability, including but not limited to test equipment, automation, fixturing, and measurement science to the operations and engineering organization
  • Exercise critical problem-solving skills on a daily basis and be able to work on a team and independently.

Minimum Qualifications

The candidate qualifying for this position will meet the following experiential requirements and will be able to demonstrate the depth of that experience during an interview:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in electrical or computer engineering, electrical or computer engineering technology with a minimum of five years of industry experience in test or hardware electronics development.
  • Understands basic RF concepts, terminology, and theory.
  • Ability to demonstrate advanced level knowledge of the following tools: Mentor Graphics Design Suite, MATLAB, Visio, Python, C#, Tortoise GIT, GIT Bash, Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to construct, modify, and interpret automated test programs for electronic subassemblies through final assembly written in Python and MATLAB
  • Ability to achieve and maintain a DOD security clearance

Desired Skills

  • FPGA programming, JTAG in Systems Programmers, Schematic Design and Layout
  • Packaging and electronics material handling experience
  • Experience working in an electronics manufacturing environment
  • Software test experience
  • Printed circuit board assembly troubleshooting experience
  • Experience with relational databases such as PostGreSQL.
