Job Description

CACI is seeking a systems network engineer who will be responsible for researching, designing, developing, and/or modifying hardware and software systems to support operations of the IPAWS Lab. Presents ideas at the direction of the PMO for system improvements and develops cost estimates for hardware and software upgrades. Manage project implementation and maintenance of HW and SW. Assess SW change impact analysis along with developing SW training guides for IPAWS Lab employees. Assist with the enhancements and future implementation of AMS Cloud. Produces detailed specifications and writes software code to support new and expansion initiatives of the IPAWS Lab (if necessary). Supports IPAWS user acceptance testing of IPAWS capable systems and provides results to IPAWS engineering. Assist PMO with AWS application process, provides knowledge base recommendations and improvements. Manage IT integration and maintenance activities related to IPAWS Lab relocation (including server configuration and cyber security).  Configure all Networking aspects for systems to connect.

Duties may include developing strategic plans and transition plans, conducting research and analyses of business practices, performing cost/benefit analyses, implementing process improvements, designing, and implementing communication strategies and plans, and facilitating organizational change to improve organizational performance and service levels.

More About the Role

  • Integrated Public Alert and Warning System (IPAWS) experience in multiple systems is desired.
  • Problems faced may be challenging, but typically are not complex
  • May influence others regarding system design, solutions, and procedures
  • May support administration for both IPAWS Lab and IPAWS PMO CRM software tool and produce reporting that evaluates trends and metrics
  • Provides strategic advice with expertise in IPAWS technical areas.
  • Available to support 24/7
  • Provide recommendations and corrective action plans
  • Perform duties as assigned 
  • Create and manage user accounts for electronic health record systems.
  • Troubleshoot software issues with end user systems.
  • Perform daily server checks and document issue in a helpdesk system.
  • Load operating systems and software on client machines.
  • Conduct basic software testing.
  • Work with users over the phone to troubleshoot software, hardware, and network problems.
  • Provide training to other system administrators.
  • Setup and maintain virtual test environments.
  • Evaluate, test, and package software for deployments.
  • Document software bugs and work with software engineers to develop fixes.
  • Support software deployments.
  • Provide support to end users.
  • Provide software demonstrations and training to customers and partners.
  • Produce documentation and training materials for use by system administrators.
  • Develop tools and scripts to support end user.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications

  • BA/BS + 5 YRS
  • Must have some experience in the areas of personnel management and evaluation, planning, analysis, and reporting, and be capable of providing the results of above topics in oral and written formats
  • Experience with supporting Oracle, Hyper-V, and VMware.
  • Experience with supporting Windows Server environments
  • Experience providing desktop support in Windows 10 environments.
  • Experience with supporting Windows Servers.
  • Experience with troubleshooting networks, hardware, and software.
  • Knowledge of networking and routing/switching.
  • Knowledge of basic computer and server hardware
