Job Description

CACI is looking for an experienced Software Verification Facility Hardware / Software Integration Engineer to support the Lunar Gateway Program at NASA Johnson Space Center.  This exciting position involves the design, development, integration and operations of a new software verification laboratory to test and verify flight software used on the Lunar Gateway. This position will provide a broad spectrum of growth opportunities for an individual from low-level hardware design to high-level software development, culminating in a high fidelity integrated test facility used to verify flight software for the Lunar Gateway.

More About the Role:

  • Design, develop, and integrate hardware/software components for a software verification and validation facility.
  • Support operation of the software verification and validation facility to execute FSW verification runs.
  • Support on-going sustaining engineering and enhancements to the software verification and validation facility to increase rig efficiency and capability.
  • Provide troubleshooting and fault resolution of the verification and validation facility to minimize rig down time.

This work takes place at NASA/JSC in Houston, TX, a highly stimulating and dynamic environment that is critical in human space flight and the space exploration initiative.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident. 
  • B.S. in Aerospace, Electrical, Computer or Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related disciplines.
  • Integration experience using some of the more prominent hardware standards and protocols used in space vehicle avionics, e.g., at the board level.      
  • Good hardware and software troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong programming skills
  • Must be flexible, open to new challenges in a dynamic environment, and possess strong technical expertise combined with strong verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with little supervision. 
  • Must be a highly responsible, team-oriented individual with strong work ethic.  
  • Must have highly developed coordination and organization skills.

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
  • M.S. in Aerospace, Electrical, Computer or Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related disciplines.
  • Spacecraft or aircraft flight software verification and certification.
  • Experience developing and integrating closed loop real-time spacecraft or aircraft simulators.
  • Test facilities supporting human-rated flight systems a plus.
  • Time-Triggered Ethernet (TTE).
  • Avionics integration lab or test facilities experience
  • Human-rated safety critical flight software in aerospace or other industries.
  • RESTful API.
  • RTOS development experience using VxWorks.
  • NASA Core Flight Software (cFS).
  • Embedded firmware experience.
  • C++ development or Python scripting experience
  • VHDL and programming FPGAs.
  • Vehicle-wide knowledge of space vehicle systems..
