Position Summary: Under general supervision, performs a variety of specific professional non-complex engineering tasks of an analysis, design, or test nature. Duties and Responsibilities: Track the screening, brokering, and planning and accomplishment status of Mandatory Technical Requirements (MTR) as listed in the Baseline Availability Work Package (BAWP); Liaisons with Port Engineer on all maintenance recommendations and screening of work in VSB; Review and develop reply to NAVSEA 21 and SURFMEPP on TYCON CNO availability deferrals and any deferral from the BAWP impacting the existing FRP; Develop the Availability Work Package (AWP), in coordination with the Port Engineer and Ship Maintenance Team to assure appropriate balanced life cycle and corrective maintenance; Responsible for capturing the requirements due in the Fleet Response Plan (FRP); Track, analyze and report execution of BAWPs from a wide variety of internal and external entities (including TYCOM, NAVSEA, SURFMEPP, RMC and others) to coordinate the BAWP process; Participate in IPTD and conferences at, A-540, A-410, A-360, A-240 and A-120 and availability closeout reviewing the status of Class Maintenance Plan (CMP) items, modernization planning/execution, CASREPs, Departure from Specifications (DFS), Temporary Standing Orders (TSOs), Long Lead Time Material (LLTM) and general repair jobs; Develop risk assessments for availabilities and identify possible mitigation plans; and Submit all Availability Work Packages (AWPs) and deferral requests to Type Desk Officer (TDO) for approval prior to promulgation via Lock Letter. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: -- Typically requires bachelor‘s degree or equivalent and at least four years of related experience; educational requirements may be substituted for ten (10) years of relevant experience. -- Current Secret clearance or higher. -- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs and other database and maintenance management tools. -- Working knowledge of fleet maintenance procedures associated with Navy directives, including the Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual (JFMM). -- Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently with attention to detail.
