Provide Engineering support in the field of Electronic Warfare (EW), to include infrared Missile Countermeasures (IRCM) particularly of Man Portable Air Defense (MANPAD) weapons, Hostile Fire Countermeasures (HFCM), integrated Information Operations (IO), Data Collection and Analysis, and Systems Engineering. POSITION SUMMARY: Directs all product/service research and development engineering activities for the reporting unit. Coordinates activities with engineering, sales, marketing, and operations to identify needs and provide engineering solutions. Develops strategic plans, policies and procedures for research and development for both domestic and international engineering activities. Responsible for the employment, training, motivation, discipline and performance evaluation of assigned employees. Participates in planning and policy development issues. Requires subject matter expertise. RESPONSIBILTIES: Fully understand and manage work performed in various lab activities from a programmatic and technical sense Manage and track funding from customers/mission lines to ensure successful project execution Brief customer/management on project status and next steps Provide collaboration with other government HITL laboratories for sharing test setups, procedures, test plans and results Provide collaboration with primary contractor for support of the CIRCM program S&T development Attend Electronic Warfare (EW) conferences and community gatherings to promote I2WD capability, advise technical direction, and gather information about activities in other organizations. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Active Secret Clearance (TS/SCI Must be Obtainable) Experience in Aircraft Survivability, EW, Electro-Optical Engineering, Threat Detection and Characterization Specifically Executing Hardware in the Loop (HITL) laboratory setups for the purpose of characterizing MANPADS Developing component technology (laser sources, platform target sources) for use in the labs, developing and/or integrating M&S software to HITL setup, and the analysis of threat models and algorithms for exploitation purposes EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Requires a bachelor‘s degree or equivalent, and 12 to 15 years of related (engineering and management) experience. Master‘s degree preferred. Three to five years of supervisory/management experience is required. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Normal demands associated with an office environment. Ability to work on computer for long periods, and communicate with individuals by telephone, email and face to face. Some travel may be required.
