With a wide range of knowledge, designs, installs, and maintains the network system and coordinates its use. Evaluates hardware and software and peripheral equipment for large, complex networks. Manages network performance. Troubleshoots and resolves complex problems to ensure quality transmission service on the network. Maintains, create/deletes user accounts, maintains and updates system security plans on all platforms. This is a dayshift position which will require one weekend shift. RESPONSIBILTIES: - Responsible for providing monitoring, troubleshooting and resolution of Tier 1 and Tier 2 Local Area Network and Server problems. - Required to field Network/Server related event notifications via telephone calls, monitoring tools alerts or official notifications. - Must be able to document Network/Server outages/anomalies through internal and external reporting tools and escalate problems in accordance with company policy. - Analyze and report on Network/Server performance anomalies. - Modify configurations of network devices, and manage and maintain Server and Network availability through use of HP OMI, HP NNMi, BMC BBNA and other various monitoring tools. - Notify customers and IT management of problems as applicable and work with help desk personnel and second and third level Network and Server support technicians to resolve problems. - Develop and implement system documentation to support operational duties, disaster recovery procedure. - Assist other Frameworks with creating configuration and design documents. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Typically requires bachelor‘s degree or equivalent, and five to seven years of related experience. - Experience with HP Monitoring Tools and with NetFlow or SFlow reporting tools is highly desired. - Experience in analyzing network performance indicators such as: bandwidth and CPU utilization, packet loss, cell loss, and errors. - Experience with desktops, servers, routers, switches, hubs and with Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, TCP/IP, and OSPF protocols. - Knowledge of SNMP, MIBs and network performance data analysis. - Must be able to work with all frameworks in a -œteam- environment in order to optimize all aspects of network and enterprise performance. - Must have solid oral and written communication skills and be a self-starter. - Must be IAT Level II compliant PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Normal demands associated with an office environment. Ability to work on computer for long periods, and communicate with individuals by telephone, email and face to face. Some travel may be required.
