Job Description

Summary: The System Engineer will provide support across multiple phases of the systems engineering life cycle to include technical planning, requirement analysis, system design, scheduling, system integration, verification and validation, and training. Must be a self-motivated individual who understands technical concepts, has good communication skills, and able to collaborate on technical topics with a larger team. The System Engineer will focus on leading the team‘s forward momentum in agile development methodologies and its supporting processes implementation.   Duties and Responsibilities: Leads Scrums and Sprint Planning sessions and maintain baseline development schedules and identify/remove roadblocks Provides technical and administrative support to Government-led change management forums (Configuration Control Board (CCB) and Engineering review board (ERB) Provide feedback to the developers relating to system functionality concerns Ensures efficient delivery of engineering capabilities using best practices, industry standards and repeatable processes. Ability to track workload in order to keep multiple projects on-track Bring a self-starter, Highly Motivated Attitude Accountable for the product backlog and prioritization of user stories with team member Build, create and manage the development roadmap based on input from all stakeholders EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Typically requires bachelor‘s degree or equivalent and five to seven years of related work experience.   Required Qualifications: Demonstrated knowledge of configuration/data management (CM/DM) processes and methodologies, development techniques, change control processes, configuration audits, policies, procedures, standards, and industry publications related to configuration/data/release management Hands-on experience maintaining, monitoring, and reporting CM baselines Experience with leading coordination of CM issues with developers and System Engineers Practical experience with Scrum principles and practices Experience with Agile development methodology Practical experience with Agile development tools (i.e. Atlassian JIRA and Confluence) Ability to facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint meetings, and retrospectives Practical experience with participating in and leading product backlog grooming sessions, defect management and project team‘s release planning sessions Possesses a strong sense of urgency, strong organizational and follow up skills Ability to handle multiple assignments and manage multiple build configurations Ability to communicate effectively with project staff and customers to solve complex issues   Desired Qualifications: Experience performing periodic process audits of specific processes, and performing functional, physical, and production configuration audits Experience with the software build management tool Git/Github/GitLab Experience with the configuration management tool Puppet Ability to be diplomatic with strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills Adept at adjusting to changing circumstances quickly and professionally Ability to make quick decisions when clarification or modification is needed Must be self-directed and able to drive detailed solutions to completion with minimal oversight   PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Normal demands associated with an office environment. Ability to work on computer for long periods, and communicate with individuals by telephone, email and face to face. Some travel may be required.
