Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY: CACI has an exciting and challenging opportunity available for a Senior level garrison network/communications engineer with experience with Small Aperture Terminals (VSAT) and larger fixed ground station satellite systems operating in a variety of industry standard SATCOM network configurations to include SCPC, TDMA, etc. Experience in evaluating, configuring, testing, and providing operations and sustainment support for all elements of the RF transmit and receive chain to include IP based satellite modems interfacing with industry standard satellite bandwidth management systems such as IDirect and COMTECH VMS. RESPONSIBILTIES: - Focus will be on Satellite Communications - Site surveys for install of fixed and mobile SATCOM terminals to include power, space, look angle, frequency management, and other install considerations. - Coordination with vendors of SATCOM service and SATCOM hardware to engineer appropriate solutions for varying deployment requirements worldwide. - Setup and teardown of SATCOM terminals to include short notice crisis deployment of SATCOM terminals worldwide in response to crisis requirements. - Reactive and preventative maintenance on SATCOM terminals. - Maintenance of documentation and service bulletin libraries for all supported equipment - Generation of test, site survey, setup, tear down, procedures for all supported SATCOM equipment. - Generation and implementation of recommended PMCS schedules and procedures for depot and deployed systems. - Generation and management of recommended spares inventories both forward and depot for all supported SATCOM systems. - Coordination with network administrators/engineers and system administrators/engineers in support of the integrated installation of RF, network, and production equipment. - Part of a rotating forward deployed roster. - Travel may be required in support of forward deployed SATCOM operations in remote locations. EXPERIENCE: - Ability to obtain CI polygraph. - Ability to work independently with little direction and guidance. - Ability to work weekends and evening hours as needed. - Excellent writing and communication skills, including the ability to develop analytical documents and present oral presentations to senior/executive management. - Proficient is MS Office suite -“ Visio, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project. - 7+ years related technical experience in Satellite Communications Hardware.   EDUCATION - Bachelor‘s degree in Computer Science or related field   REQUIED CLEARANCE: - Active TS/SCI   CERTIFICATIONS: - DOD 8750 IAT-2   TRAVEL: - Current U.S. Passport required. - Travel up to 30% of the time. - Travel may be required in support of forward deployed SATCOM operations in remote locations. - Able to deploy in support of U.S. contingency operations, up to 180 days.   DESIRED SKILLS: - Master‘s degree in Computer Science or related field - CompTIA Security +
