POSITION SUMMARY: The ARAT-SE has the requirement for an experienced individual to join its CREW/Duke sustainment team as part of the governments ARAT Program Office (ARAT-PO). We are looking for an experienced Test Engineer with an understanding of Radio Frequency (RF) systems test, including Electronic Warfare (EW) measures such as Counter IED, and a background in self-protection ground systems hardware and software engineering. The candidate must be a quick learner and a self-starter with strong analytical and problem solving skills, be resourceful and able to work independently in support of on-going projects managed from the ARAT-PO. The candidate also should be able to work well as part of a team, including providing senior leadership and guidance, as needed. Defines and develops test standards for the testing of information technology products, equipment or systems in accordance with company and contractual requirements. Reviews and evaluates complex test specifications, test results, test trends and implements corrective action as needed. Interfaces with customers, vendors, and various company departments to resolve problems that cause test failures. Provides work leadership to lower level employees. RESPONSIBILTIES: Tasks to be performed include, but are not limited to software test description development, software test planning, performance of system integration and testing, and software test analysis. The candidate should have familiarity with operating RF hardware and test equipment, manually and as part of automated test systems. The position also requires flexible working hours. Engineering responsibility for hardware-in-the loop test design and software sustainment at APG Conduct system integration and regression testing Developing new test related documents in order to sustain testing operations. Reviewing and updating test documents as needed to ensure accuracy. Keep detailed records of all the test-related equipment that moves through the lab and also in and out of CREW/Duke storage areas. Develop and manage Quality Assurance and Configuration Management components to ensure proper data management and data integrity of test drivers, test equipment, and test setup data. Resolve software, hardware, or testing procedure/process-based test station issues. Develop, review, and modify test procedures, as required. Provide root cause analysis and documentation for failed testing procedures and other test station system failures relating to either the test hardware or software. Interface with systems engineers, and software and firmware developers for bug fixes and upgrades to test station/instrumentation software. Translate procedures in legacy test documentation into equivalent procedures for upgraded test stations. Write test station scripts and spreadsheet-based calculators to improve test efficiency. Stand in for test personnel on an as needed basis. Operate various automated test station systems. Identify test station limitations and resolve limitations by implementing appropriate workaround procedures. Develops systems, standards and computer programs for data acquisition to be used in testing new products and as part of the quality control system within the manufacturing process. Prepares proposals for testing programs, outlines specific testing conditions, and develops operating procedures. Reviews and evaluates complex test specifications, test results, test trends and implements corrective action as needed. Prepares detailed technical reports of findings and makes recommendations for needed modifications to correct problems. Coordinates and oversees actual tests and analyzes validity of results. Reviews customer requirements and specifications to ensure that tests will confirm that these are satisfied. Interfaces with customers, vendors, and various company departments to resolve problems that cause test failures. Studies information from suppliers regarding materials and components to be utilized. Develops proposal inputs and presents them to department and program personnel. Generates reports and reviews documents generated by junior engineers. Provides management with feedback on test trends, returns and vendor performance. REQUIRED SKILLS: Understanding of system test methodologies and concepts Understanding requirements and having experience translating them to test procedures, to ensure testing against requirements Knowledge of how to develop Requirements Traceability Matrices (RTMs) Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Project) Knowledge of computer hardware, computer networking, networking protocols (TCP/IP, UDP) and serial communication Experience with MATLAB Strong analytical and problem solving skills Ability to work within a team environment and ability to work independently Strong leadership and strong communication skill Ability to conduct briefings. DESIRED SKILLS: Knowledge of CMMI level 3 processes and procedures Experience with LabVIEW, TestStand, and DOORS Scripting languages such as DOS Batch, Python, Unix shell or similar software. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: BS degree or MS degree in Computer Engineering/Computer Science or Electrical Engineering 5+ years of related technical and development experience. Must possess a valid U.S. Government SECRET Security clearance. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Normal demands associated with an office environment. Ability to work on computer for long periods, and communicate with individuals by telephone, email and face to face. Some travel may be required.
