Summary: A Special Assistant II is expected to interact with high-ranking officials both within and throughout the Intelligence Community, Congress, the White House, and the private sector. Intrinsic to the Special Assistant‘s work is knowledge of the client, the Intelligence Community, and other government agencies. Incumbents may provide general supervision and guidance to junior secretaries. A Day In the Life: As a Mission Support Administrator, a typical day might include the following: - Manages the workflow of multiple critical issues within a continuously adapting schedule for the assigned SE - Maintains a schedule of appointments that involves determining the importance of the issues for each meeting - Monitors and coordinates systemic impacts of e-mail for action items and gleans items from staff meetings and weekly reports that require action - Drafts and prepares non-routine letters, memos, documents, and various reports - Maintains an efficient office environment; may include assisting in the ordering of supplies, arranging for the repair of office equipment, initiating the installation of new software, or participating in the planning and implementation of office renovation projects - Work is typically performed in an office environment, requiring the use of computer terminals and standard office equipment to accomplish work objectives. Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time. The position may also require lifting, pushing and/or carrying equipment averaging 30+ lbs. Must Haves: - TS/SCI with Polygraph - Three years of progressively responsible executive office support experience. - Strong communication skills (listening , oral, and written) - Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook software - Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint - Education: High School diploma or GED equivalent. - Strong oral and writing skills Nice to Haves: - Prior experience with our client‘s administrative systems - Experience with providing customer service - Ability to interact with people who have different values, cultures, or backgrounds. - Ability to work independently at a brisk pace, make urgent judgment decisions, and to take the correct action.
