Job Description

The SEWS II Systems Engineer (Integration and Test) performs functional, integration, regression and performance testing for a variety of systems used in support of the SEWS mission.  The Systems Engineer will prepare test description documents in support of releases, and test systems before they are deployed.  In addition to performing testing for system deployments the Test Engineer position will support planning for events that support the COOCMS use of the SEWS equipment sets.  In this example, the engineer will develop the test documentation, test procedures, data collection and in-house system testing based on customer requirements. The SEWS II Systems Integration and Test is responsible for assisting with the design and analysis of user needs, providing hardware/software solution recommendations, loading software/modifications, performing system integration testing, configuring workstations, routers, and other network equipment, installing hardware, updating site drawings, assisting with troubleshooting and resolving equipment problems, documenting information for metrics, and performing site surveys. Individual will also utilize engineering skills to research, develop, test, and document solutions for Research & Test (R&T) activities. Position includes performing in a back up role for help-desk type support for remote users to identify and resolve hardware, software, and communication issues, document solutions, and develop recommendations to reduce the frequency of repair. The individual will also be responsible for periodic 24/7 pager support. Cross Domain Solutions: The Systems Engineer (Integration and Test) will also conduct analysis and support the integration of network services and data using the Radiant Mercury cross domain solutions software.  Position will oversee integration of cross domain technologies and artifacts in compliance with the Unified Cross Domain Management Office (UCDMO), Cross Domain Technical Advisory Board (CDTAB), Cross Domain Solution Element (CDSE), Foreign Disclosure Office (FDO), National Security Agency (NSA), and Risk Management Framework (RMF), and host enclave requirements. Support and contribute to CDTAB and the Defense Information Assurance Security Accreditation Working Group (DSAWG) meetings for CDS change approvals as appropriate.  Duties and Responsibilities:  €¢ Performing SEWS II Integration and Test activities for network routers, switches, Linux and Windows servers and workstations, COMSEC and Cross Domain Solutions equipment €¢ Performing hardware and software configuration and management, point-to-point and network connectivity, system configuration, and GOTS/COTS Integration and Test €¢ Assisting with the testing of user needs for the associated hardware €¢ Perform system support for remote users to identify and resolve hardware, software, and communication issues, and document solutions, when needed €¢ Utilizing engineering skills to research, develop, test, and document solutions for Research & Test (R&T) activities €¢ Support the update and renewal of Cross Domain Solutions approvals via the UCDMO four phase process €¢ Reviewing program processes for the incorporation of system engineering best practices €¢ Providing Integration and Test support for the Integrated Broadcast System (IBS)  Required Qualifications:  €¢ Bachelor's Degree in Systems Engineering, Engineering, Math, Computer Science, or related field of study and 12+ years of related technical experience or equivalent combination of education/experience €¢ Strong work ethic, demonstrated problem solving ability, willingness to learn new skills, and proactive approach         €¢ Ability to work effectively on a small team  €¢ Experience with test and evaluation activities for major releases of software and upgrade of existing hardware €¢ Past experience working in an operational environment is required €¢ IAT Level II certification (Network +, Security+, GSEC, SSCP, CCNA)  €¢ Must be a U.S. Citizen, in possession of a Secret clearance TS preferred €¢ Excellent communication and organizational skills are necessary to interface with the customer team Preferred Qualifications:  €¢ Experience with the Shared Early Warning System (SEWS) and Global Command and Control System (GCCS) €¢ Experience with Theater Event System (TES), Sun/Oracle workstations and Missile Event Information (MEI) €¢ Experience with equipment installation and testing, analog and digital encryption methodologies,  €¢ Experience providing Integration and Test support for the Integrated Broadcast System (IBS)  €¢ Experience with Radiant Mercury (RM), and cryptography devices  €¢ Networking experience with Cisco and Virtual Private Networks (VPN) €¢ COMSEC Configuration and Operations
