Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY: DoD customer will require detail-oriented person with strong planning, outreach and communication skills. Experience in an Information Technology environment is preferred. The role requires proactive outreach and dialogue with DoD management, senior executives and partners to clarify, align and synchronize communication and messaging efforts. Ensure designated event speakers are properly prepared, including overview of event logistics, procedure and anticipated audience.   RESPONSIBILTIES: Provide support for JIE-related speaking engagements, including planning for organizations and events to target and coordinating with the CIO Public Affairs Office. Maintain and update web portal with details on speaking, media engagement or public events by DoD CIO personnel and/or representatives. Provide communication and management support to include developing, collating, revising, and updating timely information on JIE and JIE elements through media such as documents, fact sheets, briefing slides (including the Overview briefing), and wikis. Provide planning and analytical support to ensure the CIO's objectives and initiatives are efficiently managed and executed; including use of an online portal framework and collaboration tools. Maintain and update portals to ensure accurate postings of upcoming activities, archiving of event documents and other associated information. Provide technical assistance in managing schedules, deliverables, action plans, and planning and resource allocation, and metrics. Provide systems engineering and technical analysis support to develop and refine tool capabilities and supporting processes to help provide visibility into the master list of projects/initiatives and to provide metrics to assess progress. Support planning for, facilitation of, and follow on to weekly JIE Integration meetings. Coordinate and track official DoD CIO speaking events, to include coordination with host organization, understanding of expectations, etc. Receive and track media inquiries received by the DoD CIO, coordinating contact and communication as needed. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent, and 5-7 years of related experience. Excellent written and verbal communications skills required. - Must have current Secret Clearance - Writing, proofreading and editing skills - Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills     PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Normal demands associated with an office environment. Ability to work on computer for long periods and communicate with individuals by telephone, email and face to face. Some travel may be required.
