Position Summary: The ideal candidate should be an experienced, fast-learning, organized and productive Technical Editor with familiarity with Agile Scrum and technical delivery support. This position is responsible for ensuring that all assigned work activities are performed in a timely and cost-effective manner while maintaining the highest quality of performance. Primary job duties to include: - Responsible for activities associated with reviewing documentation and project deliverables associated with customer-defined systems and software. Basic responsibilities include: - Editing, and producing a variety of technical project documentation, reports, brochures, manuals and training material documentation for a wide range of uses, coordinating the display of graphics and the production of the material. - Ensuring documentation content is of high quality and conforms to project standards. - Editing and improving existing documentation in line with project standards. - Ensuring effective document and file management across the project; managing project team documentation repository. - Experience with document structure and logic flow, as well as writing for non-technical audiences. - Experience relating to engineering and maintenance drawings and/or operational procedures to include the knowledge and ability to interpret, absorb, and synthesize large quantities of computer system and application-related information. - Excellent written and oral communications skills; must be able to interface effectively with SMEs and managers of all levels. - Ability to work as a member of an active Scrum team editing documentation in parallel with software code development with frequent refactoring and tuning of artifacts. - Strong collaboration skills. - Ability to research and organize complex work steps in a concise and discernible manner. - Ability to manage multiple, potentially conflicting, assignments, while ensuring technical accuracy, adherence to documentation standards, and a timely delivery of all work products. - Develop new and refine existing technical writing processes to enhance quality and productivity. Required Skills: - Excellent communication skills in English in written and spoken form - 3+ years of demonstrated technical writing experience - Strong written and oral communications skills - Expert in Microsoft Word, including template design and macro functionality - Experience with Adobe Acrobat Pro, Adobe FrameMaker or InDesign, and Adobe Photoshop - Knowledge of document and repository management practices, including using SharePoint, Team Foundation Server, or similar tools - Strong attention to detail and collaboration skills - Ability to interface with various groups as well as work independently - Strong contextual understanding of technical terminology and extensive technical vocabulary - Understanding of all elements of the software development life cycle, including planning, development, requirements management, CM, quality assurance, and release management - Highly responsible, team-oriented individual with very strong communication skills and work ethic; self-starter - Active Secret clearance (required), Interim is acceptable. Desired Skills: - College degree (B.A.; B.S.) in a related discipline. - Experience with desktop publishing, automated work processing and other digital information technology applications; particularly electronic publishing. - Experience editing technical documentation in short iterations - Ability to apply advanced principles, theories, and concepts, and contribute to the development of innovative principles and ideas. - Experience working on unusually complicated problems and providing solutions that are highly creative and ingenious, exhibiting ingenuity, creativity, and resourcefulness. - Periodically develops data which goes beyond existing boundaries of information in field. - Acts independently to expose and resolve problems.
