Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY: Join CACI's Aerospace Solutions Group in supporting radar antenna range upgrade and modernization programs for the U.S. Air Force. Be a part of the multi-disciplined engineering team that designs, develops and demonstrates next generation automated test systems that enable Government maintenance technicians to diagnose and repair the fire control radar antennas and radomes found on fighter aircraft. This RF engineering position entails developing and integrating microwave/RF measurement systems that are tightly coupled to precision motion control systems.   RESPONSIBILTIES: - Work as a member of an integrated product team to develop and deliver Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) and Test Program Set (TPS) hardware and software as a part of a system solution - Design, develop, integrate, and validate nose radome and fire control radar antenna range upgrades including: - Assess the performance of the existing antenna positioner systems by performing physical inspections and conducting a series of electro-mechanical system diagnostic routines as appropriate - Conduct an assessment of the existing RF Quiet Zone associated with each range - Conduct an assessment of the overall RF environment within the chambers of each Compact Antenna Range - Plan for absorption material upgrades and equipment repositioning as needed to reduce or eliminate RF interference inside each chamber - Perform incremental RF tracking subsystem testing to ensure the proposed designs function properly in the chamber environment - Develop RF calibration routines, using a vector network analyzer, to fully characterize all cabled RF paths - Develop integration and acceptance test procedures - Conduct operator training - Ensure individual work products are completed on cost and on schedule - Participate in document and code peer reviews to ensure conformance, correctness and quality of all delivered products - Participate in ATE/TPS hardware and software design activities - Integrate and troubleshoot ATE/TPS hardware and software - Develop ATE/TPS requirements, design and test documents   -   EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Typically requires bachelor's degree or equivalent and five to seven years of related experience. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: - Microwave/RF measurement experience - Hardware-in-the-loop modeling experience - Experience with Windows 10 and/or Linux development tools DESIRED EXPERIENCE: - Experience with Keysight PNA-X Microwave Network Analyzers - Experience developing and evaluating RF trackers for sequential-lobe tracking radars or monopulse phased array radar systems - Experience tuning precision pointing and tracking systems - Software development using MATLAB, Simulink, ANSI-C and/or C++ - Development of ATE and TPS for aircraft electrical, mechanical, avionics or engine systems - Experience with ISO 9001, AS9100 or CMMI quality management systems - Familiarity with ATE/TPS government standards such as MIL-PRF-28800 and MIL-PRF-32070
