Team CACI has an exciting and challenging opportunity available for a Cloud Engineer supporting a DHS customer’s enterprise environment. CACI will provide a variety of IT services including cyber security, identity and access management, risk management, cloud integration and engineering, field support services, service desk, application deployment and optimization, and operations center support services. The nature of this support will range from software to hardware, and includes troubleshooting connectivity issues, providing device enhancements, installation and maintenance of server-side applications, and interfacing with a large and diverse customer base.
Primary responsibilities include providing Cloud Engineering daily support and administration of a Government cloud platforms. The Cloud Engineer will serve as a Technical and possesses excellent interpersonal and communication skills required to partner with other leaders across the enterprise to identify opportunities and risks and develop and deliver solutions that support business strategies. Familiarity with ServiceNow ticketing systems is a plus, as is the ability to adapt to and develop procedures around changing technologies and customer requirements. This position will ensure the stability, integrity and efficient operation of the mobile systems that support mission critical DHS organizations.
You will monitor managed enterprise infrastructure platforms to identify performance issues and ensure the overall system integrity.
What You’ll Get to Do:
Ensure the overall health and strong security posture of complex network architectures. The Cloud Engineer will be actively involved with all phases of security design, implementation, proactive monitoring, troubleshooting and analysis of enterprise mobile device management. Develops system specifications, architecture designs, integration and test plans, and all relevant documentation. Develops security assessment and mitigation strategies. Maintain compliance with DOD Information Assurance requirements as well as ensuring service performance indicators are met or exceeded.
CACI is currently seeking a Cloud Engineer with a strong focus on MS Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud. The selected candidate will be involved with transforming development and testing environments from on-premises to cloud-based. The candidate will work closely with stakeholders to gather technical requirements, architect solutions and execute on deliverables. In our small Lab Team, you’ll be responsible for providing a multi-tenant, multi-cloud, cloud and on-prem IT lab environment solution to enable solutions development and operations teams the necessary sandboxes within which to execute their assigned missions, while providing needed/wanted common services to reduce redundancy, and still enabling specific communication between sandboxes as needed. You won’t be living in a confined stovepipe or swim-lane. Although the overall contract consists of one base year and five option years, you’ll participate in enabling multiple, incremental solution efforts via Agile sprints which may be similar with others, or they may be completely unique. More About the Role:
The Cloud Engineer is a cloud role in the project delivery cycle with hands-on experience migrating customers to the cloud and designing DevOps operational processes, deployment checklists, etc.
You might be a true SME in one or more things, or not, but you’re able to rapidly learn and adapt to new challenges and technologies
Experience with networking concepts and logging and monitoring of hybrid-cloud workloads.
Understanding of application security patterns including web application security, service mesh and mobile security strategies.
Ability to quickly learn, understand, and work with new emerging technologies, methodologies, and solutions in the Cloud/IT technology space
Communicates acceptably with both technical and non-technical colleagues, sharing knowledge and insight
Function as a member of a small team tasked with developing, deploying, and maintaining a multi-tenant, multi-platform, infrastructure to provide lab IT enclaves
Experience with developing scalable architectures using API management, microservice frameworks, PaaS, and container orchestration systems, or other applicable platforms.
Working knowledge of at least one configuration management tool, such as Ansible, Chef, and/or Puppet
Experience writing effective PowerShell scripts
Experience with monitoring tools, such as Application Insights, Microsoft Operations
Management Suite (OMS), certificates and SSL management
General understanding of Microservices, such as Docker, Kubernetes preferred
Integrate, Secure, and Operate lab enclaves across Azure, AWS, Google Cloud and on-premises vSphere
In the lab core services enclaves, you might provision, install, configure, monitor and maintain applications, platform services, and/or operating systems (either or both of Windows and Linux) on both public and private VM infrastructures, in order to implement, manage, and maintain the envisioned security model and provide certain centralized services to tenants
Create and manages scripts
Produces and reviews detailed documentation and diagrams regarding the solution being integrated
Participate in the internal Engineering Review process
Provide technical cross-training/coaching of more junior colleagues
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
US Citizenship required
Must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information and be successfully obtain to a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) EOD authorization.
Understands and intuits "why things work", not just the ability to follow installation and configuration guides
Strong experience integrating and troubleshooting systems in a Windows Server environment
Strong experience integrating, securing, and making useful one or more of the following Microsoft platform services: Microsoft Active Directory (at an advanced level), Windows AD-integrated PKI (at an advanced level), MS SQL Server, IIS
Strong experience installing and configuring COTS software applications
Strong experience with securing systems following STIGs, best practices, and government/compliance requirements (NIST 800-53, FISMA, etc)
Moderate to Strong experience creating and analyzing PowerShell and/or Command Shell scripts
Moderately strong understanding network communication fundamentals.
Experience engineering in highly structured, segmented/partitioned networks
Experience with log management, network firewalls, and testing
University Degree (BS), or equivalent years of related experience, and additionally 7+ years of related IT engineering experience required.
Azure and/or AWS certification within 6 months of hire
As a requirement of continued employment in this position you will be required to obtain a DHS/EOD clearance.
