We are currently seeking Software Development Interns to join our FADE development team in our Aurora, CO and Denver Tech Center offices. As an Intern, you’ll work on a team that is literally changing the state-of-the-art of geospatial software. Our software is used worldwide, with a growing user base. The organization is comprised of several different teams, which each utilize a different technology stack to enable an array of capabilities. Depending on the team, you will have the opportunity to work with a variety of technologies, which may include Java 11, ReST, Spring, Angular, Bootstrap, Cesium, OpenLayers, WebGL, WebAssembly, Accumulo, PostGres, Python and a variety other enterprise technologies. You will also be exposed to GIS & OGC standards, continuous integration and automated testing tools such as Jenkins, and JUnit. Candidates should be comfortable operating in all phases of the application lifecycle and possess strong base knowledge of software development paradigms. Use of industry-proven design patterns and open source tools is encouraged. This position requires a combination of supporting existing applications as well as new development work. What You’ll Get to Do:  


As an intern, you will be embedded directly with a software development team, learning and growing with the team. Our philosophy is to provide real world experience to supplement your formal education, filling the knowledge gaps with formal industry experiences.

  • You will write software used for our various applications (using Java, JavaScript, or C++)
  • You will utilize open standards and libraries to develop new capabilities for our customers
  • You will participate in the full lifecycle of an Agile development team, including planning, daily execution, demonstrations and retrospectives
  • You will gain real-world experience preparing you for your professional career

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:  

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Mathematics
  • Must be a rising Junior or Senior in a Bachelors program or graduate student
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a government clearance
  • Minimum program commitment of 12 weeks (starting in mid to late May 2020)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, flexibility and ability to work in a team environment
