Job Description

CACI’s Business and Information Technology Solutions (BITS) Sector is seeking a Cyber Network Firewall Engineer to support a large contract in Herndon, VA.  As a Cyber Network Firewall Engineer, you will focus on planning, coordinating, and implementing network security measures to protect data, software, and hardware. If you are a motivated individual looking to be a part of a critical mission, we encourage you to consider joining our team!

  Your responsibilities will include the following:

  • Attending Technical Exchange Meetings (TEMs) to consult with clients, project managers, and systems administrators to gather information and determine customer requirements
  • Researching, configuring, and testing various network devices in a lab setup before deploying to customer production environments
  • Working within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval, and success of changes made to the network infrastructure
  • Monitoring and analyzing network characteristics utilizing Cisco ADSM, ACS, and other related utilities and appliances
  • Preparing script configuration files for Cisco devices, such as routers, switches, firewalls, gateways, email guards, and anti-malware systems
  • Evaluating and reporting on new network technologies to enhance capabilities of the network
  • Providing installation instructions and procedures to assist with deployment and troubleshooting for maintenance support groups
  • Updating job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, attending technical conferences, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations
  • Must possess a TS/SCI with Poly
  • Experience configuring and operating various firewall platforms (e.g., Cisco NGFW/ASA and Juniper SRX)
  • Experience creating network diagrams utilizing Microsoft Visio
  • Experience with development and maintenance of high Level and low Level Design documentation
  • Strong troubleshooting skills, analytical problem- solving ability, and organizational skills
  • Experience creating presentations utilizing Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Strong communications skills

  Candidate must have one of the following:

  • 12 Years of job related experience and High School/GED diploma
  • 10 Years of job related experience and Associate’s degree
  • 8 Years of job related experience and Bachelor’s degree
  • 6 Years of job related experience and Master’s degree
  • 4 Years of job related experience and Doctorate
  • Experience working with IDS/IPS products (e.g., Cisco FMC/Firepower, Fortinet, and TippingPoint)
  • Experience with Antivirus, anti-malware, and email security appliances (e.g., Cisco ESA and Cisco FireAMP)
  • Administrator level ability with Unix (e.g., Linux or other variant)
  • Experience with software-defined networking and software-defined WAN technology
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Security (must be working towards this certification)
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
  • Juniper Networks Certified Specialist Security (JNCIS-SEC)
